The NBA Draft is upon us. For me, that means being glued to twitter and basketball rumors websites to track all the potential storylines on draft night and seeking out as many mock drafts as possible. Yes, I’m a bit of a nerd.
For months the assumption has been that Kentucky center Nerlens Noel would be the No. 1 pick in the 2013 NBA Draft. When the Cleveland Cavaliers won the lottery, that assumption was further solidified, given the team’s need of another post presence. But as we creep towards Thursday night’s draft, it has become apparent that the Cavs are exploring other options with the top pick, and now there may be a new favorite.
On Sunday the NBA issued 10 preliminary invitations to its green room for Thursday’s 2013 NBA Draft. The league typically has between 13 and 15 players on hand during the draft, so there could be more invitations forthcoming.
