It is now under a month until the field of 68 is announced, and the at-large selections are starting to stabilize with just two new teams in this week’s projected field. Football season is officially over, and there are now less than five weeks until Selection Sunday.
With the exception of the last couple spots, this week’s at-large field was relatively easy to select. That isn’t to say that all the teams are particularly impressive, and I don’t think for a minute that there won’t be plenty of changes in the field between now and the end of the season.
In just six weeks and one day, the first game of the tournament will tip off in Dayton.
Despite the fact that March Madness will be here before we know it, the exercise to find the last few at-large teams seems to actually be getting worse as each week passes. Following the best weekend of the season so far in college hoops, there are a number of changes in this week’s projections. Despite the fact that we continue to get more data on these teams, handing out the last few at-large bids is still a crapshoot.
