College basketball season tips off on Friday, which means it’s time for me to recklessly speculate on which teams will hear their names called on Selection Sunday.

After a busy Saturday on the hardwood, there’s still a lot to be decided, particularly on the two, three, and four lines of the bracket. Fourteen automatic bids were handed out, which leaves just five more to be awarded on Selection Sunday.
Today is college basketball’s equivalent to Christmas Eve. Most of the shopping has been done, and members of the tournament selection committee quarantined on the 18th floor of an Indianapolis hotel since mid-week now have a good idea of how the brackets for the NCAA Tournament will play out.
With less than six weeks remaining until Selection Sunday, there were some interesting decisions to be made when putting together this week’s bracket.
