Best rant: Bo Pelini’s final address to his players
Bo Pelini was fired as Nebraska’s head football coach on November 30 after going 67-27 and winning at least nine games in each of his seven seasons with the Cornhuskers. The fiery coach met with his players one last time for roughly 30 minutes in the auditorium at a local high school, which he used as an opportunity to nuke every last bridge that he hadn’t yet burned in Lincoln.
The Omaha World-Herald received an audiotape of the meeting, during which Pelini went on an expletive-filled rant and called out several members of the athletic department. He had particularly choice words for athletic director Shawn Eichorst, using a pair of vulgarities for female genitalia to describe his former boss. Both the audio and transcript of Pelini’s tour de force can be found here.
