Miami (OH) 42, UMass 41
Lost in the excitement over all the crazy upsets and showdowns between ranked teams was this gem of a game featuring the programs with the two longest losing streaks in the country. Miami (OH) and UMass had lost 21 and 11 straight games, respectively, coming into the contest, and the Minutemen appeared to be on their way to snapping their skid when they jumped out to a 41-14 lead. However, the RedHawks reeled off 28 unanswered points, and UMass screwed up its chance at a game-winning field goal in the game’s waning seconds by running a play instead of spiking the ball at Miami’s six-yard line.
Now that’s a commitment to ineptitude.
