No. 10 Michigan State 27, No. 19 Nebraska 22
In a sometimes sloppy battle (the two teams combined for seven turnovers) in East Lansing for Big Ten supremacy, the Spartans held off a furious Nebraska rally to secure a victory.
Michigan State appeared to have the game well in hand, leading 27-3 after three quarters and having made Ameer Abdullah into a non-factor. But the Cornhuskers refused to go quietly, with Abdullah scoring on a pair of short runs and De’Mornay Pierson-El returning a punt 62 yards for a touchdown. Nebraska got the ball back with a chance to take the lead, and seemed destined to do just that after Tommy Armstrong found Alonzo Moore for a 43 yards to get to the Michigan State 37-yard line. But Trae Waynes picked Armstrong off two plays later, and the Spartans avoided becoming another casualty on an upset-filled Saturday.
