Iowa at Pittsburgh
If there’s an interesting game in the Big Ten this week — and I’m not saying there is — then this is it. Iowa is an estimable quantity at this point: a pretty good defense in desperate need of even a minimally competent offense, and a team in dire need of a win. Pitt is actually doing well this season under Paul Chryst and will unfortunately present the biggest test yet for Iowa’s defense. In fact, for the Hawkeyes to have a chance in this game at all, they’ll have to hold the Panthers to no more than 17 points.
I really, really don’t think Iowa can do that, and I’m even less sure the Hawks can score 18.
Pick: Pitt 24, Iowa 13
