Down on the Farm: Battle of the Sioux (at the Falls)

Access and Outlook

Sioux Falls Stadium 2

I don’t know what it would be like with multiple events occurring simultaneously, but parking was free, with no hassle, nor was it difficult to extricate on a Saturday night.

Despite a tough season, the Canaries still draw more than 3,000 per opening at “The Birdcage.” With capacity at roughly 4,500 fans, nearly 4,000 strolled through the gates Saturday night, so the place was very full.

With nearly 200,000 residents and a rapidly-growing population due to South Dakota’s robust economy, decent crowd should continue to file in, win or lose.

Sioux Falls Stadium isn’t a fancy or overwhelming facility, but it certainly is a convenient, fun and comfortable spot to take in baseball, which matters most — at least to me.
