We’ve now reached the managers who I believe are a sure bet to get “future endeavored.” General Manager Josh Byrnes was let go a month ago, and the team has since unloaded closer Huston Street and slumping third baseman Chase Headley. It has been a rough season on multiple levels in San Diego.
Black has been at the helm since 2007 and has 89- and 90-win seasons to his credit. But the writing is on the wall with the Friars well on their way to a fourth consecutive losing season.
