Recapping the Green Bay Packers’ 2014 Draft

There are few things in sports journalism that are quite as pointless and asinine as handing out grades for a team’s draft immediately after it happens. Nobody knows for sure if the players selected will make a smooth transition to the next level, so it’s downright foolish to grade a team’s picks at this point in the process.

For example, the Seahawks’ 2012 draft class was roundly trashed by so-called “experts,” even though it ended up producing four starters (Russell Wilson, Bruce Irvin, Bobby Wagner and J.R. Sweezy) on this past season’s Super Bowl-winning team.

So rather than grade the picks the Green Bay Packers made in the 2014 NFL Draft, we can instead take a look at each individual selection and what he will bring to the table for the team.
