Needs: TE, DL, C/G, S

The top need for the Patriots is obviously tight end, since they can’t count on Rob Gronkowski to stay healthy and we all know what happened to Aaron Hernandez. With the 29th pick in the first round, they may not be able to find value at the tight end spot, so taking a defensive lineman might be the best way to go. Chris Jones and Joe Vellano got way too many reps in 2013 and the Pats need someone to help solidify the inside of their defensive front.

While guards Logan Mankins and Dan Connolly will be back, they’re both over 31 and center Ryan Wendell was a disappointment in 2013. Adding an offensive lineman who could play multiple spots on the interior of the line would be huge. The Patriots also only have two true safeties on the roster as of now and could use help there.

Picks:

No. 29 – Dominique Easley, DT, Florida

No. 62 – Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, Eastern Illinois

Updated needs: TE, C/G, S
