[tps_header]Kansas City Chiefs[/tps_header]
Needs: WR, G, S
The obvious thought here would be to address the offensive line after losing Branden Albert, Jon Asamoah and Geoff Schwartz in free agency, but at No. 23 I don’t see a whole lot of value in taking a lineman based on who I think will be available. Where the Chiefs need to go first (barring some crazy draft-day movement) would be wide receiver. This draft is lousy with talented wideouts and getting Alex Smith another weapon on the outside should be a priority. A.J. Jenkins can’t be relied upon to produce and Donnie Avery is average at best. Someone like Florida State’s Kelvin Benjamin could be available and would be ready to step right in.
After that, there are obvious needs at guard and safety. Those must be addressed at some point, though the Chiefs don’t have a second-round pick to help fill those spots.
No. 23 – Dee Ford, DE/OLB, Auburn
No. 87 – Phillip Gaines, CB, Rice
