[tps_header]Bill Masterson Memorial Trophy (perseverance & dedication): Josh Harding, Minnesota Wild[/tps_header]
There has never been a back-to-back winner in the history of the Bill Masterson Memorial Trophy, but Josh Harding truly deserves the honor again. One year after winning the award for his perseverance after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. This season, he continued to be one of the most inspirational figures in all of sports, compiling an 18-7-3 record while also posting a league-leading 1.65 goals against average and .933 save percentage. He’s been sidelined since December due to adjustments in his multiple sclerosis medication, but his accomplishments are still phenomenal and he should be back in action next season.
Rich Peverley will get deserved attention after his on-ice collapse due to cardiac arrest, but even he has said he doesn’t think he should get the award until he returns to the ice. That being said, he will and should be the clear front-runner next year.
