5. Billy Turner, OL, North Dakota State
Billy Turner is another guy I just love as a prospect. He measures in at 6-5 and 315 pounds and for an offensive lineman has perfect arm length at 34 inches. He has a prototypical frame, good speed and never suffered any serious injuries in college (he played in an incredible 57 games over four years). Though he was a tackle in college, he will likely slide inside to guard at the next level. He also comes from a great family and possesses outstanding intangibles.
Turner will make his money in pass protection, though he’s solid in all aspects of the game. He’s relatively tough, and has solid awareness to find and pick up blitzes or adjust to shifting fronts. At worst he’s a decent run blocker but I think he’ll flourish with proper coaching. He could be a steal on the second day.
