The return of John Cena on Monday’s Raw gave us a definitive answer of what type of match he and Ryback will compete in at June’s Payback pay-per-view.
Ryback came out last week demanding an ambulance match, but Cena decided to take it two steps further.
Cena announced that they will fight in a “Three Stages of Hell” match, which is a two-out-of-three falls match with different stipulations for each fall. There is no doubt that the match will reach the third and final stipulation, which means the first two matches will be split by the two men.
This specific contest will feature a lumberjack match, a tables match, and finally an ambulance match.
This will only be the fourth “Three Stages of Hell” match ever. Triple H has fought in all of the previous three, facing Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, and Randy Orton. He won the first two but lost the last one to Orton.
In honor of the return of the Three Stages of Hell match, this post contains highlights of the past three matches.
