Z Returns To The Q, Cavs Beat Kings

In what was arguably the most awaited and most emotional return of an athlete in Cleveland Sports history, center Zydrunas Ilgauskas returned to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Quicken Loans Arena last night.

The Cavs’ marketing team went all out and created a special “Welcome Back” party atmosphere for the beloved native Lithuanian, as the arena was transformed into the “Z Nation.”

Special “CavZ Welcome Back Z” T-Shirts were sold, and commemorative two-sided wall posters were handed out to excited fans, as they entered the arena. One side of the poster contained a Cavs logo, a picture of Z in uniform, and read “Welcome Back March 28, 2010; while the flipside simply contained the letter Z with a shadow of his likeness inside of it.

Z-Less Cavs Fall To The Magic, Losing Third Straight Game

Since the recent trade of Center and fan favorite Zydrunas Ilgauskas (with rumors circulating that the NBA may try to block his return to Cleveland), nothing has gone right for the Cleveland Cavaliers on the court.

Some call it bad karma, while others say give newly acquired All Star Forward Antawn Jamison a little more time to adjust to his new team.

Cavs Trade Rumor: Big Z to Hornets for David West

david-west-cavs-trade-rumor-zydrunas-ilgauskas

Very interesting trade rumor reported today at MorningJournal.com. The Cavs have apparently offered Zydrunas Ilgauskas to the Hornets for forward David West. Here is some of the details on the Zydrunas Ilgauskas for David West trade rumor:

The Cavs are dangling center Zydrunas Ilgauskas out there for the Hornets, who want to avoid paying the luxury tax at all cost.

The Hornets could buy out Ilgauskas’ contract and waive him. Then he could return to the Cavs in 30 days.

Or they could hang onto him and let his $11.5 million deal expire after this season.

Am I missing something, or does this not look like an absolute slam dunk for the Cavaliers?
