Trent Dilfer Rips Browns Decision to Go With Brady Quinn

Trent Dilfer Rips Browns For Starting Brady QuinnFormer Browns QB Trent Dilfer, now with ESPN, tells WKNR’s Kenny Roda he “couldn’t disagree more” with the Browns decision to start Brady Quinn on Thursday.

Dilfer said in his opinion, the Cleveland Browns fans base is too powerful and call too many shots. Moves made by the organization to placate fans is never a good idea, he said.

On the other hand, “Quinn is a talented kid” who may do a good job. But the Browns need a lot more help than a new quarterback to turn the Browns 3-5 season around, he said.

The Browns playmakers have not been making plays and that was not Browns former starting quarterback Derek Anderson’s fault, Dilfer said. Roda brought up the fact that Braylon Edwards, the Browns wide receiver, and a 2007 pro bowl player, dropped a key pass in Sunday’s loss to Baltimore before 70,000 home fans, many of whom were chanting “Brady, Brady” at the end of the fourth quarter.

“I know the Browns fans’ frustration, I was there, in Cleveland” Dilfer said. “But everytime it gets tough,” the Browns organization caves in to the whims and will of the fans.

I believe Dilfer’s feathers are ruffled because he, himself, was the object of the Cleveland boo birds when he played.
