The 28 Funniest Gatorade Baths of All-Time

rick-stockstill-gatorade-bath

Update: Thanks to Twitter, this post caught the attention of Gatorade president Sarah Robb O’Hagan (@SarahRobbOh). She enjoyed our rundown of the funniest Gatorade baths ever, and she also sent me the wall mural from Gatorade’s headquarters with some of their favorite Gatorade baths of all-time. It’s very cool. You’ll see it at the end of the post.

The Gatorade bath is a tradition like few others in sports.

After most monumental wins in football – specifically Super Bowls, national championship games, especially important and/or meaningful bowl games, or season-ending victories over hated rivals – such a celebration can be expected. The tradition began with the New York Giants in the mid-1980s and continues into today with no signs of slowing down.

While the sentimental among us enjoy the Gatorade bath because it symbolizes the triumph of a team of men on the field of athletic battle and the ultimate moment of shared jubilation and respect between coach and player, I enjoy Gatorade baths for a far different reason.

Behold, the majesty of the Rocky Mountains

dad-in-colorado

Yeah, yeah, I know. This is Midwest Sports Fans. Where do we get off writing about the Rocky Mountains, right?

Well, when my dad, who is currently in Colorado, sends me awesome pictures like the ones he sent me this morning, I can’t help but share them.

I miss Colorado. What a wonderful, beautiful, majestic place. I need to get back, and if you’ve never been, you need to go. Nothing has ever taken my breath away like the things I’ve seen hiking in the Rockies.

Welcome…to the Izzone!

tom-izzo-pictures

I’ve long been an admirer of Michigan State coach Tom Izzo. It was obvious not long after he took over in East Lansing for Jud Heathcote that Izzo was one of the rising stars in college basketball.

Fifteen years and five Final Four appearances later, Izzo is among the top handful coaches in all of America, as well as the most consistently successful Big Ten coach since Bob Knight ruled the roost from the mid-70s through the late 1980s.

Perhaps even more impressive than his wins, his Big Ten titles, or his masterful ability to produce tournament success, however, is Tom Izzo’s ability to be captured candidly on film in hilariously expressive ways.

If you want some actual analysis of Izzo’s career and how it stacks up against his peers, go here. If you want to see the 20 most intense, funny pictures of Tom Izzo on the first 10 pages of a Google Image Search for his name, well here you go.

What Is Going On With Sammy Sosa?

sammy-sosa-white

After reading this tweet and following the link supplied by Jimmy Traina, I had to quickly post this.

Does anyone know what is going on with Sammy Sosa?

As Traina’s tweet wonders, did Sosa get a facelift? Botox? Is he possibly dealing with vitiligo (the disease Michael Jackson suffered from that causes splotches of pigment-less skin)?
