In Green Bay’s run to the Super Bowl last season, it traveled from Philadelphia to Atlanta to Chicago before heading to Dallas. If the Packers are going to head to the Super Bowl this season, the only field they’ll have to play on is the Frozen Tundra of Lambeau Field.
Defense versus Offense is the quintessential argument in sports. Saturday, another chapter will be written on this polarizing subject as the second-ranked 49ers defense will be faced with the task of shutting down the high-powered offense that may seem to be on the heels of another dominant victory.
Despite Tebow 3:16, this is, without question, the most interesting playoff game for me this weekend. So let’s set the stage…
After the Saints and Falcons play tonight, just one more week will remain in the NFL regular season. As usual, there are myriad iterations of playoff matchups that could become a reality based on what happens tonight and in Week 17.

The Detroit Lions were one of the feel-good stories of the 2011 NFL season nine weeks ago. Winners of their first five games, the Lions were marching towards what appeared to be an eventual playoff appearance.

Running back JASON SNELLING of the Atlanta Falcons, linebacker CLAY MATTHEWS of the Green Bay Packers and kicker GARRETT HARTLEY of the New Orleans Saints are the NFC Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week for games played the second week of the 2010 season (September 19-20), the NFL announced today.
Labor Day has come and gone. Summer is literally over and the young minds are back in the classroom, which means fall is upon us and another football season is about to begin.
Are you excited? Ready to cheer on your favorite team? Have your war paint or favorite jersey in front of you?
Well, enough with the questions, it is officially time for Noontime Sports to serve up their divisional winners and Super Bowl predictions.
In this particular blog post, we have provided our NFC breakdown and playoff predictions.
After my rundown of the AFC, it’s time to change gears and look at the NFC.
NFC EAST
1. New York Giants 4-0
The Giants, again, are off to a hot start, led by the younger Manning brother, Eli, who is one of the most underrated QB in the league. His presence in the pocket can now be compared to his older brother, Peyton.
The defense is allowing the 2nd lowest yards per game, and the running game is 6th best in the league. All these factors contributed to wins against Washington, Dallas, Tampa, and Kansas City. While you could say two of those wins are against teams that are not very good, you should look at the Dallas game.
Beating Dallas at home, in their new stadium, just proves that this Giants team is, once again, the real deal.

The Week 17 action is in the books, and so is the 2008 regular season for the NFL. As always, it was exciting and filled with twists and turns, and now we are left with 12 playoff teams to battle it out in the NFL playoffs for a chance to win the Super Bowl.
