Star of the Harry Potter film series, Daniel Radcliffe, was hosting SNL last night. I was never a fan of Harry Potter, but I was pretty excited for tonight’s show. Radcliffe is a big star with a big following, and the SNL cast members and writers always try and show up for such occasions.
Update: Thanks to Twitter, this post caught the attention of Gatorade president Sarah Robb O’Hagan (@SarahRobbOh). She enjoyed our rundown of the funniest Gatorade baths ever, and she also sent me the wall mural from Gatorade’s headquarters with some of their favorite Gatorade baths of all-time. It’s very cool. You’ll see it at the end of the post.
The Gatorade bath is a tradition like few others in sports.
After most monumental wins in football – specifically Super Bowls, national championship games, especially important and/or meaningful bowl games, or season-ending victories over hated rivals – such a celebration can be expected. The tradition began with the New York Giants in the mid-1980s and continues into today with no signs of slowing down.
While the sentimental among us enjoy the Gatorade bath because it symbolizes the triumph of a team of men on the field of athletic battle and the ultimate moment of shared jubilation and respect between coach and player, I enjoy Gatorade baths for a far different reason.
It’s been a while since our last photo story on Andrew Luck and Peyton Manning, but the long hiatus has ended, inspired by – who else? – Tim Tebow.
Actually, this newest photo story is inspired less by Tebow and more by the thoughts and fears that have to be percolating in the minds of the Broncos’ opponents for this week, the New England Patriots. No matter how confident Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, and the rest of the Patriots may appear, the reality is that the #1 seeded Patriots, who have not won a playoff game since 2007, have all of the pressure on them this week.

From time to time this season, I’ve killed time on Sunday nights while watching SNF by compiling the most entertaining images, GIFs, and videos from the day in professional football. Since this is the final week of the regular season, I can’t pass up my final opportunity for one last trip to the NFL’s lighter side.
Hosting Saturday Night Live last night was former cast member Jimmy Fallon and Michael Buble. If you have no idea who Buble is ask your mother or your aunt, and they will tell you everything you need to know about him. “He’s like a young Sinatra, and he’s so handsome.”
As you have surely heard by now, Jake Delhomme is back in the NFL.
The man who quarterbacked the Carolina Panthers to the Super Bowl in 2003, and who is renowned as a great guy and good leader, but who in subsequent years became synonymous with terms like “interception” and “noodle arm”, is now a member of the Houston Texans.
But no matter where Delhomme goes, now or at any time in the future, to me he’ll always be Bojangles’ Defender of the Fresh Biscuit.
Maske at Upprox put it right: “I’d love to tell you I have even a semblance of a clue as to what the hell is going on here and provide you with some comforting guidance. But I can’t.”
If you’re a fan of The Office, you absolutely have to watch this video. And just prepare to stare with your mouth agape wondering how the hell this is even possible.
In honor of The Muppets, which opens today and which still has a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, I’ve compiled every “Muppet Sports” sketch (hosted by Louis Kazagger) from The Muppet Show (1976–1981), which is the first show I can recall watching religiously every week.
It did not receive much publicity at the time, but Congress recently slipped through a law requiring anyone who maintains a sports blog to post at least one Tim Tebow-related item every single day. It’s true. Look it up.
Luckily, I recently stumbled upon two relatively entertaining videos that will fill today’s Tebow quota.
Earlier today I posted the Suck For Luck Power Rankings for Week 12.
Included in this post was a discussion of the awful Washington Redskins, who placed 4th in this week’s rankings despite nearly beating the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
And embedded in this discussion of the awful Redskins was the following animated GIF that shows one of the Redskins coaches performing one of the most WTF play or formation calls in NFL history. I thought it deserved its own post.
I have no idea where this picture comes from, or whose toilet/bathroom setup this is…but I must have it.
I couldn’t watch yesterday’s post-game incident between 49ers’ coach Jim Harbaugh and Lions’ coach Jim Schwartz without being reminded of this 1996 sketch from Mr. Show With Bob and David. It’s a 7-minute sketch, and the similarities don’t become clear until about 6 minutes in, but it’s worth the watch (if only because Mr. Show was awesome).
I was just forward this link from a friend, and since I have the luxury of a job where I can sit on my ass and open up links like this during the day, I decided to indulge. What followed were 11 pretty funny “accidentally dirty baseball photos” rounded up by the folks at 11Points.com.
