Every Sunday morning starting at 10:00 CT (11:00 ET) we are here to answer your last minute start/sit questions.

The fantasy playoffs are approaching quickly, and decisions must be made to set a playoff-worthy roster. Picking up a player off waivers or deciding which star to sit could be the difference between making or missing the playoffs.

All the talk this year has mainly been of the struggles of Chris Johnson and Philip Rivers. As painful as it is to watch, dwelling on the problems will set you back.
Six team byes have been scaled back down to four this week, so fewer players will be sitting out of your matchups, but it will still likely necessitate at least one or two touch decisions; decisions you shouldn’t take lightly, because while this may be the middle of the season for the players, our playoffs are right around the corner and crunch time is upon us.

Already this week have posted waiver wire pickups, start/sit recommendations, and our own player rankings for Week 9 (plus this post lampooning Chris Johnson and Philip Rivers for their bust-worthy performances so far this year.)
Now, as we do most weeks, we bring you consensus player rankings from trusted fantasy sites across the web (including MSF). The rankings are compiled and distributed by the folks at PlayThisGuy.com and provide a nice snapshot of the majority opinion for Week 9.

While the guys at Fantasy Football Crystal Ball haven’t posted Week 8’s official results yet, I feel pretty solid after looking at last week’s rankings.
Week 9 is yet another opportunity to steer you in the right direction when it comes to how players stack up with one another based on their talent, performance thus far this season, and Week 9 matchup. Rankings are provided below at QB, RB, WR, TE, and Defense/Special Teams.

Before we get to the Week 9 fantasy football start/sit advice, I want to add a couple more thoughts on my Tebow article from yesterday. (And don’t worry; I’ll analyze his fantasy prospects for Week 9 too.)

Week Eight featured fewer injuries and breakout performances than we’ve seen in recent weeks, but it did provide fantasy owners with a sobering reminder that we live in a world where Drew Brees, in a gift-wrapped matchup against a floundering defense, can be outscored by guys like Matt Moore and Matt Painter.
The good news is that we are through most of the bye weeks, and just four teams (Carolina, Detroit, Jacksonville, and Minnesota) are off in Week Nine. While most of those teams haven’t racked up many wins, there are some big fantasy names on those rosters for which owners may need a replacement.

I originally posted the Week 9 rankings on Tuesday. A lot has changed since them, which is what always happens. I just posted the Week 9 injury update and now it’s time to update the rankings with more compete information about what we can expect in Week 9.
[Editor's note: as I've mentioned on a few occasions, I am active over at the r/FantasyFootball page on Reddit. One of the frequent posters there expressed an interest in contributing content to MSF Fantasy Sports, and I was happy to provide him with an opportunity. This is his first post, and includes some solid analysis if you're looking help in a deeper league.]
It’s week 9. Are all of your players healthy? Do you have players to fill in for bye-weeks? Are you confident with the depth of your roster moving forward? I hope so! But, not everyone can be so lucky. And even the teams that look perfect now are one high ankle sprain away from complete destruction.
Well have no fear, MSF Fantasy Sports is here! You might have already seen Jerod’s list of potential week 9 sleepers, but if that is not enough for you, or you need to go a little deeper, maybe this list will prevent you from completely losing all of your hair.
Update: The Week 9 rankings have been updated!

If you’re paying attention, you’ve like already seen our Week 9 waiver wire sleepers and the Week 9 start em, sit em picks. Also, I encourage you to check out two other pieces that were posted yesterday: the All-Undrafted Free Agent Fantasy Football Team and my thank you/request for reader feedback.
Now it’s time to go position-by-position and team-by-team ranking the players. It’s another 6-teams-on-bye week, so I know a lot of you are going to be going deep into the player pool this week to set your rosters. I tried to go as deep as possible and rank every player with a chance for relevance in Week 9.
In Week 9, we have a similar situation to Week 8. There are six teams on bye (listed below), which means that there will plenty of lineup gaps that you need to find worthy players to fill.
Last week I highlighted names like Matthew Stafford, Steve Johnson, Mike Williams, and the Kansas City D as solid sleeper targets. Who are the guys you should be targeting on waivers this week?
Solid options at QB, RB, WR, TE, and Defense are detailed below.

Crunch time is upon us.
As enter Week 9 of the fantasy football season, some of us are breathing easy with playoff spots all but assured, some of us are struggling with each decision in our quest to improve playoff positioning, and others are desperately trying to make a late season surge just to have a chance.
And then there are others who are out of it and just playing out the string, although I doubt too many of those owners are bothering to scour start ‘em, sit ‘em posts in preparation for this week.
For the majority of us still scratching and clawing for every point and every win, here is your weekly start ‘em, start ‘em breakdown…and then the endless string of Q&A in the comment section.
Here’s a quick teaser: who would you rather start in Week 9 between Matt Schaub and David Garrard? The answer might not be as clear as you may think.

Another crazy week of fantasy football is in the books.
Last week’s insanity included the fact that Joseph Addai threw for more touchdowns than Peyton Manning….Ryan Moats had 3 TD’s….Kurt Warner completds 5 passes to Panthers…
And T.O. actually scored a TD.
What does Week 9 have in store? First, the following teams are on a bye: Bills, Browns, Vikings, Jets, Raiders and Rams. Most of these teams being on a bye will not hurt fantasy owners too badly; I have an offensive starting ban on the Browns, Bills and Raiders which still has not been lifted.
For the teams that are taking the field, which QBs and D/ST units offer the best potential value in Week 9? Let’s investigate.
