Six teams have already played their games this week, but there are plenty of players who are playing today that will have major impacts on fantasy football teams. Here are some who will disappoint, and some who will surprise.

Every Sunday morning starting at 10:00 CT (11:00 ET) we are here to answer your last minute start/sit questions.
Zach is out this week, so it’ll just be me captaining the ship. Good news for you: I don’t have to leave early, so I can go all the way up until kickoff.

Thanksgiving is a football fan’s dream: plenty of good food and plenty of good football.
Even though some fantasy owners don’t like their guys playing so early, it could actually work in your favor if you are down a pretty big margin after the Thursday games have ended and taking a big risk is necessary.
No byes again this week, so getting a lucky matchup with your opposition missing Aaron Rodgers and Matt Forte are over.
Please, enjoy your holiday and this week’s Stock Report. (And find a replacement for Fred Jackson fast.)

Week 12 is filled with turkey, pumpkin pie, and football. With three excellent games to kick of the week on Thursday, there should be plenty of tackling, cheering, and nail biting for all.
Let’s take a look at the injuries.

It’s go time.
The playoffs are dead ahead. Now, more than ever, it is vital that you start the right guys.
We already advised you on the waiver wire. We’ve already outlined who you should start and sit on Thanksgiving. We’ve also told you about a fun Thanksgiving-only fantasy challenge.
Heck, we’ve even outlined the complete history of Thanksgiving Day football for you.
Now it’s time to look at the rest of Week 12.

Jon will have the overall Week 12 start/sit post ready to go for tomorrow morning, but with three games on Thanksgiving Thursday I thought it might be helpful to do a special start/sit column for those games.
So in this post I’ll do just that, providing analysis and recommendations for the key players you need to decide on before Turkey Day.

With bye weeks now a thing of the past, fantasy owners have one less thing to worry about as the playoff push begins. However, it’s also a great time to start looking ahead to identify guys who can help you during the fantasy playoffs and to pick them up while you can.
This week we’ll look at not only guys who can help in the short-term but also those who may pay dividends when it matters most.
Every Sunday morning starting at 10:00 CT (11:00 ET) we are here to answer your last minute start/sit questions. And we’ll be here again this weekend.
Register below and we’ll send you an email you Sunday morning to remind you.
I’m sure that many of you have already made the majority of your lineup decisions with the three star-studded games from yesterday necessitating some early choices. Now that those games are over, whether your Thursday players were successful or not (mine were!), it’s important that you reevaluate your remaining open slots to ensure the best possible lineup for pivotal Week 12.
As I do every week, I’ve gone through the official injury report and researched the latest known information on every fantasy-relevant injury for the weekend. Use this as a guide while setting lineups, and then make sure to check them again on Sunday morning to see which GTDs play and which ones don’t.
Update: These rankings are from Tuesday. To see my updated rankings, posted Friday, click here.
Getting these rankings out early (along with this week’s Start em, Sit em post and the Week 12 waiver wire sleepers) is obviously extra important this week with three games coming on Thursday. Thanksgiving Week is always one of the toughest of the year for fantasy owners, as a multitude of decisions have to be made without as much information as we normally have.
But have no fear. I’ve dug into the stats and matchups to give you my opinion on the general ranks of players. And here is another general rule of thumb to use and you peruse this list: if you are trying to decide between two players and they are within 1-5 spots of eachother, go with your gut.
You’ll always feel better when you trust your gut and it works out, and you’ll beat yourself if you go against your gut and it doesn’t. This is your team and these are your decisions, so make sure that if you’re going to go down that you go down fighting with the guys you believe in.
Well, it’s getting down to crunch time for my team in the P&G-sponsored Blogger Fantasy Football League*. Coming into Week 11, I was just a game behind the two leaders of my division, needing to crack the top two to make the playoffs.
Unfortunately, my team threw up a dud, scoring just 80.28 points. It led to a blowout loss to a team that had been 3-7 before facing me. Strong performances from Matt Ryan, MJD, and the unstoppable Dwayne Bowe did me in as Brandon Marshall, Dan Carpenter, Adrian Peterson, and Eli Manning all let me down.
What’s sad is that had I played Ryan Fitzpatrick over Eli and BenJarvus Green-Ellis or Mike Goodson over Adrian Peterson, the matchup would have been much closer. But I do not second guess myself for either choice, especially the Peterson start. He starts every week. Had I decided to get cute and start The Lawfirm over Peterson, it would have been right in this singular instance but still decidedly the wrong move in all but the most myopic of viewpoints. Hopefully you agree.
That’s my philosophy in a nutshell, as I’m sure you’ve realized if you read this site regularly. I harp on it over and over because I don’t think it can be harped on enough. Play your stars until they force your hand.
Adrian Peterson has been very good this year, mostly consistent, and is so explosive that he could score 25 points any week against any defense. A little dip won’t sour me on him, even a two-week dip, nor should it sour you on him.
Marshall, on the other hand, is a totally different story. He’s parlayed a top-10 target total into one measly touchdown. And with Tyler Thigpen looking like a deer in headlights against Chicago, I’m now more worried than before about Marshall’s long-term prospects for this season.
Brandon Marshall has actually been listed as a sit two straight weeks in this column, and both times I was right. Unfortunately, I lack WR depth on my BFL team, so I’ve had to play him. Now that I have Sidney Rice and Vincent Jackson back, perhaps it will light a fire under Marshall’s ass and get him going.
Oh wait, it doesn’t quite work like that, does it?. They aren’t actually teammates and I’m not actually their coach/GM. Anyone else get confused about this by the time Week 12 rolls around?
With that said, let’s just move along now.
To anyone who asked questions from Friday through Sunday morning last week, I apologize for not being able to get to them. On Friday I addressed my weekend absence, but I realize not everyone read that post.
Just know that last weekend was an anomaly, not the new norm. I’ll be here this week and all future weeks to keep answering all your questions as we come down the stretch. We have championships to win!
That said, let’s take a look at the waiver wire to see who you should be targeting for Week 12 and beyond.

——————–
I realized this weekend why I love fantasy sports so much.
As many of you know, I am both an Indiana basketball fan and a Cleveland Browns fan. Thus, my Sunday began with watching the Hoosiers at 9:30 am as they desperately tried to salvage one win in the Puerto Rico Shootout and was then followed by heading to the Browns Backers meetup to watch Cleveland battle the Detroit Lions.
To say that I was desperate to see one of my teams capture a victory would be an understatement.
Unfortunately, both the Hoosiers and Browns did on Sunday what they have proven oh-so-good at doing over the last two years: snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Indiana was done in by a banked-in three pointer with five seconds left after relinquishing a five point lead with five minutes to go. The Browns were done in by a pass interference call on Matt Stafford’s desperation Hail Mary pass, which was followed by an un-timed down that resulted in a touchdown.
One Sunday, two excruciating losses for my two beloved teams. And that is why I love fantasy sports. Without my fantasy football teams to track, what reason would I have as a sports fan not to run out and jump off of my balcony right now?
And on that positive not, let’s look ahead to Week 12 of the fantasy football season!
