Fantasy Football Week 3 Sleepers: Hasselbeck, Nelson, Carter, Miller, and the Opportunistic Bungles D

david-nelson-fantasy-football-week-3-sleepers

On Monday, Andy Bottoms told you which players you should be targeting on the waiver wire. Then on Tuesday, Jon Washburn informed you which players you should start and which ones you should sit in Week 3. And then on yesterday, in between talking to live callers, I pointed out where I agreed and disagreed with both.

Now today our Week 3 fantasy football analysis continues.

I just posted the consensus Week 3 player rankings, and now I am going to highlight several sleepers hiding on the waiver wire or on your bench who you need to consider putting in your lineups for Week 3.

Fantasy Football Week 16 Sleepers

As you know, I was eliminated from the P&G-sponsored Blogger Fantasy Football League* last week. Luckily I played in six leagues this year, making the playoffs in four of them, and giving me plenty of motivation to stay up on the latest in the fantasy world.

With the carnage of Week 15 now settling in, it looks like I will have one team advancing to the championship round. While I’d like to have more than one chance at a title, if I was going to pick a league to win other than the P&G league, it would be this one. It’s the league with all my college friends that I’ve been in for close to 10 years now. Major bragging rights are on the line!

So as we look forward to Week 16, I know that there will be less of you reading these articles, but I also know that the stakes are as high as possible, so I’m not skimping on the research, recommendations, or Q&A.

Fantasy Football Week 15 Sleepers

So…you remember how I need a miracle to win my Week 14 matchup in the P&G-sponsored Blogger Fantasy Football League*? Yeah, well it looks like I’m going to need yet another Monday miracle this week to keep my season alive.

The question is, can my prayers be answered two weeks in a row? Furthermore, if the fantasy football gods want to answer my prayers, is it even conceivable?

Let’s take a quick look, as well as analyze the free agent list for this week’s waiver wire sleeper picks.

Fantasy Football Week 14 Sleepers

With Week 13 close to being in the books, I am sure that we will have lost another chunk of our readership. Not because the advice we’ve given has been poor (at least, I hope not!), but because with only one week left in most leagues’ regular seasons, the number of people scrambling for roster advice will now be diminished as more teams get eliminated.

And while my team in the P&G-sponsored Blogger Fantasy Football League* is hanging by the thinnest of threads, I am still in playoff contention of each of my five other leagues. Thus, you know I’m scouring the waiver wire for any player who will give me an advantage.

This column includes the fruits of that research, and it will hopefully assist you in finding some guys who can help you get into the playoffs and do well once you’re there.

Fantasy Football Week 13 Sleepers

In Week 12, we learned a lot about some players we’ve been going back and forth on.

For example, Mike Goodson finally got into the end zone and proved that he’ll have value even with Jonathan Stewart healthy again (especially in PPR leagues). We also learned that WRs we previously thought were one week wonders – Jacoby Ford and Ben Obomanu, to name a couple – might need to be taken more seriously.

With many playoff positions resting on a strong Week 13 performance, I tried to dig even deeper this week to unearth potential sleepers for your lineups.

Fantasy Football Week 12 Sleepers

To anyone who asked questions from Friday through Sunday morning last week, I apologize for not being able to get to them. On Friday I addressed my weekend absence, but I realize not everyone read that post.

Just know that last weekend was an anomaly, not the new norm. I’ll be here this week and all future weeks to keep answering all your questions as we come down the stretch. We have championships to win!

That said, let’s take a look at the waiver wire to see who you should be targeting for Week 12 and beyond.

Fantasy Football Week 11 Sleepers

By Week 11, the bye weeks are over and the playoff picture is becoming clear in your league(s). You are either researching waiver wire sleepers because you a) need someone with upside to win a key Week 11 battle, or b) you are in the playoffs already and are looking down the road to guys who can help you win a championship.

So my goal with this week’s waiver wire sleeper column is to satisfy both searches.

Fantasy Football Week 9 Sleepers and Waiver Wire Targets

In Week 9, we have a similar situation to Week 8. There are six teams on bye (listed below), which means that there will plenty of lineup gaps that you need to find worthy players to fill.

Last week I highlighted names like Matthew Stafford, Steve Johnson, Mike Williams, and the Kansas City D as solid sleeper targets. Who are the guys you should be targeting on waivers this week?

Solid options at QB, RB, WR, TE, and Defense are detailed below.

Fantasy Football Week 8 Sleepers

This is probably the single most important week for this column. Why? Because there are six, count ‘em six, teams on bye in Week 8.

That means the player pool is two teams smaller than it typically is during the mid-part of the season and that people will be scrambling for fill-ins during the early part of the week.

Get a head start on your competition by knowing who the Week 8 diamonds in the rough are. Everyone in this post should help you in a pinch this week.

Fantasy Football Week 7 Sleepers

So far this season I am at least two games over .500 in all six of my fantasy leagues, including my team the P&G-sponsored Blogger Fantasy Football League* (where the winner goes to the Super Bowl!). One of the main reasons I have been able to be so consistent this year that I don’t procrastinate each week when it comes to improving my team.

It’s imperative that you’re ready with waiver claims before the weekly deadline, or that you pounce on guys immediately after the waiver period has ended. And obviously you want to grab the right guys. That’s why each week we run down players at every position who can help you out for that week and beyond.

Here are our waiver wire sleeper targets for Week 7.

Fantasy Football Week 3 Sleepers: Kevin Walter, Dustin Keller, and more

In case you’re a bit dissatisfied with one or more of your starters at a particular position, and trolling the waiver wire in search of a guy who could be a Week 3 boon, this post is for you.

I’ll provide a few names at each position that are owned in less than 50% of Yahoo leagues who might be able to provide more of an immediate impact than someone else on your roster.

Fantasy Football Deeper Sleeper: RB Rashad Jennings of Jacksonville

Your draft is complete, and like most everyone else you’re probably feeling pretty good about your team.  So it’s time to just sit back and wait for the regular season, right?

Wrong.

Do the names Miles Austin, Jamaal Charles, and Pierre Garcon mean anything to you?  All of these players were major fantasy contributors last year, and all were available in nearly every league before the season began.

Imagine if you could have identified these players before their value became obvious to everyone.  Here are three players who have the ability to have a huge impact this fantasy football season, and are most likely available on your waiver wire.

Week 15 Sleepers and Waiver Wire Steals

week-15-sleepers-campbell

It’s been a couple of weeks since we have posted a sleepers and steals article, and with so much riding on this week it seemed like the perfect time for another one.

Plus, while scouring the waiver wire in one of my leagues last night I stumbled upon Quinton Ganther of the Washington Redskins, which surprised me for two reasons: 1) that I hadn’t picked him up yet, and 2) that I was in a league with that many other owners who apparently had taken their eyes off of the road.

Ganther needs to be on your roster folks, especially with a nice matchup this weekend against a New York Giants defense that has given up 17 rushing touchdowns this season.

And speaking of the Redskins, Jason Campbell is another guy possibly sleeping on your waiver wire who could help you win your Week 15 matchup.

Who are some other sleepers and waiver wire steals for Week 15? Let’s take a look.
