I did not watch the ESPYs last night. In fact, I didn’t even realize they were on.
If I want to watch ESPN, sports stars, and assorted celebrities celebrate themselves for three hours I don’t need a special event to do it; I can watch ESPN pretty much any time and get that (which, admittedly, I do…because they are the Worldwide Leader and I have no choice.)
And if I want to see someone try to be funny but not be, I can either read my own posts on this site or watch Seth Meyers do Weekend Update on Saturday nights. I didn’t need to watch him host the ESPYs last night.
After seeing bits and pieces of post-ESPY coverage this morning, it doesn’t look like I missed much that couldn’t be gleaned with five good minutes of web browsing this morning.
Here are the highlights, in case you missed the ESPYs too:

To be more apt, the title of this post should probably say “non-Coverage” choices, since the WWL has basically refused to cover the Ben Roethlisberger sexual assault story, and has understandably been very brief in its comments and coverage regarding the secret video that was shot of Erin Andrews.
First, and most egregiously, was the awful story about the secret video that was taken of ESPN sideline reporter and sports blog princess Erin Andrews. Â We haven’t posted about her much here at MSF, mainly because so many other sports blogs do it…and do it better than we would. Â But I personally am a big fan of Andrews, for reasons that go far beyond her obvious physical attractiveness. Â
With that in mind, it’s time to spread a little love to our friends in the sports blogosphere with our daily link dump that we refer to around here as LOTD (Links of the Day).
