Photo Story: Tiger Seeks Jack’s Guidance on Eve of PGA

tiger-jack-nicklaus

As you know, the PGA Championship is this weekend. The fourth major of the year marks Tiger Woods’ final opportunity to get one step closer to his life’s goal: Jack Nicklaus’ record of 18 major championship victories.

Unfortunately for Tiger, he has shown no signs that he is ready to compete for a major. He had the worst four-day performance of his career last weekend, and it is clear that golf’s erstwhile greatest player is currently a mental and physical mess.

Well, on the eve of Tiger’s first round at Whistling Straits he sought out the guidance of the man he’s been tracking his entire career. As usual, MSF was there with our camera and transcription machine to capture this golfing Kodak moment.

ABC News Report: Tiger and Elin to Get Divorce

tiger-elin-divorce

I haven’t written about Tiger Woods since Saturday, which I am sure thrills many of you who have grown sick of this story, and this post won’t take long. Just a quick update which comes pretty close to putting a nice little bow on marriage part of the whole thing.

And that is that the marriage probably won’t be a marriage for much longer.

ABC News is now reporting that Elin and Tiger will be getting a divorce, obviously at Elin’s behest, saying that a “divorce is 100 percent on.”

Everything Tiger Woods Says Now Deserves a Wait-and-See Reaction

Word broke in the early evening yesterday that Tiger Woods had announced on his website that he will be taking an indefinite leave of absence from professional golf.

My initial, gut reaction was to think good for Tiger and his family. That’s the right decision to make.

And if Tiger’s #1 goal right now is to make every effort to repair his relationship with Elin, and to protect his children from the harsh glare of a negative media spotlight that now shines upon the family, then taking a leave of absence from golf and from the U.S. is about as sensible an idea as I can think of.

However, in the immediate aftermath of Tiger’s decision, almost every media person that I have heard and read this morning seems to be, astonishingly, buying wholeheartedly into the gut reaction I described above.

Meaning, of course, that they’ve learned nothing from the past three weeks.

Latest Tiger News: Rachel Uchitel Lied, Tiger and Elin in Counseling, and Jesper’s Comments

tiger-woods-elin

Yesterday the world heard the much anticipated Tiger Woods text message in which he implores one of his side ladies to remove her name from her voice mail message.

We also got to read Tiger’s statement, which doubled as a half apology and perhaps ill-timed diatribe against the media.

What stories will people be talking today?

Rachel Uchitel claiming that she was lying about not having an affair the Tiger, the current status of Tiger and Elin’s marriage and prenup, and the spot-on comments by Elin’s friend and Tiger’s colleague Jesper Parnevik.

One White Guy’s Reaction to the Tiger Woods Story as It Gets More Salacious by the Second

If you do a quick perusal of our golf coverage here at MSF it will be pretty clear to you that I am much more of a Tiger Woods fan than I am a golf fan.

I always have been, and I probably always be.

I enjoy playing the game, although I do not play it all that much. And I enjoy watching the game, although I do not watch it all that much if Tiger is not playing nor a prominent story.

For me, Tiger Woods is golf, and I have followed him as much as I’ve followed any athlete over the last decade.

Part of the reason for that is because Tiger is so dominant at his sport, so fascinating to watch from an athletic perspective, so famous, so wrapped in sporting mythology, and so ubiquitous.

Latest Tiger Woods News: New Woman, CG Reenactment Video Surface

tiger-woods-crash-video

I’ve been following the Tiger Woods story very closely since it all broke this past weekend, but have stayed away from posting anything on MSF.

I feel compelled to post something today, well, because the Chinese deserve some major props for doing what no one in this country could do: produce a CG reenactment of that fateful night when Tiger Woods’ world changed forever.

Video, plus new rumors of another woman, after the jump.
