College Football Picks and Point Spreads for Week 1

LSU-Oregon

This weekend is the beginning of the college football season and bets are being placed by people every minute.

The opening weekend in college football is very hard to bet on because you have yet to a see teams play.  Projections are based on past seasons’ success and how many starting players are left over from the prior season.

This week also has many teams that are opening their season with opponents in the FCS, and that make it very hard to place bets since there is not much information on those teams.  That is why I try to stay away from games that have a FBS team vs FCS team, because you just don’t have all the resources to make an educated pick.

Here are my top picks that offer the best opportunity to be profitable this weekend.

Is it possible that the soon-to-be Pac-12 is going to blow realignment too??

Personally, I was so happy to see Nebraska get the invite to become the Big Ten’s 12th team (rather than that school in South Bend), and was looking forward to see the University of Wisconsin become instant division rivals with the Huskers, Iowa, and Minnesota – while the Ohio St./Michigan clash would have division championship ramifications in a newly-formed Eastern Division.

But based on wanting competitive balance based on the school’s records since 1993, and a desire to have Ohio State v. Michigan as a potential championship game. The Big Ten decided to mix things up…
