You’ve surely seen the ‘Any Given Sunday’ graphic that highlights NFL parity by showing how one team beats another, which beats another, which beats another, until the circle returns to the original team. But did you know…not only does that work in the 32-team NFL, it also works in 344-team Division I college basketball.

After another exciting and eventful weekend of college hoops, Andy Bottoms was able to trim some teams off of the bubble. Even so, there is still the potential for plenty of movement during the last week of the season as teams jockey for position and look to make a positive final impression in their respective conference tournaments.

Verdell Jones, Tom Pritchard, Matt Roth, Daniel Moore, and Kory Barnett were around for all of the carnage. Now, they are ready to take on Purdue with a 24th overall win, an 11th conference win, and 5th place in the Big Ten on the line, in Assembly Hall, on Senior Day. As far as I’m concerned, these five young men deserve as loud an ovation as has ever been given to a group of IU seniors.

If Saturday’s glut of upsets, exciting games, and nail-biting finishes is any indiation, this year’s NCAA Tournament is going to be fantastic. As it stands, this looks like Andy Bottoms’ second the last set of Power Rankings for the season, because once the field is announced and March Madness begins, any lingering debates will be settled on the floor.

With Selection Sunday now just two weeks away, teams around the country will soon be learning of their NCAA Tournament fate and destination. That also means fans will start making plans to see their teams in person or at a minimum concocting excuses to miss work for March Madness. We here at MSF support both of these endeavours and pride ourselves on being able to provide all the information you need about the 2012 NCAA Basketball Tournament to support either one, including the schedule, site, and ticket information.
