Joey Votto Gets F’d in the A by Charlie Manuel

This is un-f’ing-believable.

Joey Votto, who would undoubtedly be in the top 5 if NL MVP voting were held today, was inexplicably not named as an NL All Star reserve by Phillies manager Charlie Manuel.

So who was named? Well, Ryan Howard was, of course.

Yeah, this would be the figurative definition of getting “f’d in the a”.

Quick World Series Five-Game Recap and Revised Prediction

I need not recap the past five games too much, since TV ratings, as expected, have been extraordinary.

I think any baseball fan (not of the Yankees, I suppose) is happy we’ll see a World Series Game Six for the first time since 2003, due primarily to AJ Burnett’s ineffectiveness on three days rest, and of course, the magical bat of one Chase Utley.

I picked the Phillies in five, especially after they split in New York, and was wrong.

Yankees-Phillies 2009 World Series Preview and TV Schedule

There will not be a freeway series this year in baseball, nor will there be a cross-country coastal series. There will be an “Amtrak” Series, however.

And hopefully the Phils and Yanks will travel like The Babe did in the old days when they commute back and forth over the next week or so in the Fall Classic.

By virtue of a clutch game 4 win that gave them series control and an eventual second consecutive NL pennant, the Philadelphia Phillies will take on the New York Yankees, fresh off another close victory and series win over the gutsy Anaheim Angels.
