Outside of Tim Tebow, the two players most discussed this season by NFL pundits and fans alike have combined to take zero NFL snaps through 8 weeks.
I am referring, of course, to Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck, two quarterbacks whose futures become ever more entwined as the Colts get closer and closer to having the first pick in next April’s draft (and as the news about Manning’s neck continues to worsen).
It’s Week 6 and the Monday Night Football contenders this week have a combined number of wins of TWO. That’s right, two. Combined. The 2-3 Jets will host the 0-4 Dolphins on Monday night.
This game isn’t just a competition of who can play the best, no; it will be a vicious fight for a win between two teams desperate for Ws.
Let’s take a look at why the teams are where they are.
So how’s everyone’s fantasy team doing? Are you confident like the dominating Green Bay Packers or feeling a little lost like the unfortunate Minnesota Vikings? If it’s the latter…well maybe you’re not paying close enough attention to my injury updates! Then again my team is 1-3. Yeesh.
Here are the injury updates for Week 5 of the fantasy football season.
Week Three is over, and you are probably wondering one thing: How is a guy that’s giving such great advice 0-3 in his own fantasy league?
I wish I knew…injuries have just killed me…and I’ve lost each week by an average of 1.2 points. Just heartbreaking.
Some of you are probably in the same boat as me. Even if you aren’t, it’s the time in the fantasy football season when leagues are won and lost. Now is when we have to start making the tough calls.
The point of emphasis of this column is to go somewhat outside the box in regards in waiver wire pick-ups and beyond the usual recommendations. Another objective is to indicate whether certain players are worth a substantial bid in FAAB formats. As always, all feedback is very welcome in the comments forum.
Since we pride ourselves on getting this out early, I submitted the Week 2 waiver wire advice column prior to the Monday night games. When applicable, I will submit updates to the column with any waiver-worthy players from Monday night.

As luck would have it, only one man stood out among the fantasy neglected on Monday night. And that man was none other than…
The NFL season officially began on Thursday, which also meant the fantasy football season began as well. That might have been good or bad for your fantasy team, depending on whether or not you have Aaron Rodgers or Drew Brees on your team.
If you are already losing in your fantasy league, make sure that you have the right players on your roster to counter your opponent.

Week One is finally here. You have done all the research (you know, the usual: waiver wire picks…injury updates…comparing QBs to Michael Jackson songs…), you have gone through your draft, and most importantly, you have started talking smack to everyone in your league.
You only have one job left to do: start the right guys.
Nothing could be worse than having an awesome team…on your bench.

Unfortunately, the eternal King of Pop is no longer with us (he would have turned 53 just a few days ago on August 29th), and he thus he will never be able to follow in the footsteps of Bruce Springsteen, The Who, John Mellencamp, and others who have taken to the Super Bowl stage as older musicians, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t weave the musical brilliance of Michael Jackson into a post about the National Football League.

The NFL Supplemental Draft will occur once the lockout ends, which is seemingly soon, and there is one notable player who will have his name in the draft: former OSU QB Terrelle Pryor.
Pryor recently appeared on Jon Gruden’s QB Camp on ESPN, and he seemed very mature and showed why many OSU fans originally fell in love with his play. He is very knowledgeable on the game of football, but he just has lapses in judgement that overshadow his great plays.
Pryor has insisted that he is only a quarterback, even though many are suggesting that he play receiver or even tight end. There will certainly be one or even a few teams that would like to give him a chance at the quarterback position. One team who could benefit from giving Pryor a chance would be the Miami Dolphins.

Remember in the movie Men In Black how they had that little device that could wipe someone’s memory clean? After last week, I wouldn’t mind someone doing that to me.
Though I did a good job answering specific questions with all relevant lineup/league info (as I feel I usually do), Week 9 was certainly less than stellar with respect to the top-line picks.
While I nailed Eli Manning as a start and Seattle’s D as a sit…that was pretty much it. See below. The carnage was ugly.
But you know me. Bad weeks only motivate me more to dig deeper into the numbers and trends. I am committed to making Week 10 a much more accurate week over all…as much for your teams as for my own.
Last week I opened up the Start em, Sit em post by telling you about how was I was off to a strong 5-2 start in the P&G-sponsored Blogger Fantasy League*. With the stakes being two tickets to the Super Bowl, you can imagine how much focus I’ve put on doing well in this league.
This week, I must regretfully inform you that I lost in Week 8, falling to 5-3 with a 14 point loss. The worst part? A win was sitting on my bench.
In Week 9, we have a similar situation to Week 8. There are six teams on bye (listed below), which means that there will plenty of lineup gaps that you need to find worthy players to fill.
Last week I highlighted names like Matthew Stafford, Steve Johnson, Mike Williams, and the Kansas City D as solid sleeper targets. Who are the guys you should be targeting on waivers this week?

This is probably the single most important week for this column. Why? Because there are six, count ‘em six, teams on bye in Week 8.
That means the player pool is two teams smaller than it typically is during the mid-part of the season and that people will be scrambling for fill-ins during the early part of the week.
Get a head start on your competition by knowing who the Week 8 diamonds in the rough are. Everyone in this post should help you in a pinch this week.
