Fantasy Football Week 1 Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Lineup Advice

Update 9/10/10: Get the latest injury update on Beanie Wells as well as injury updates on Knowshon Moreno, Michael Bush, and more.

Does it seem to you like the first full Sunday of regular season NFL action is still a ways off?

I don’t know why, but it does for me. Then I look at the calendar and – surprise, surprise! – we’re just a week away from a full slate of games on Sunday and Monday, and a mere five days away from the official kickoff of the 2010 season in the Superdome.

And that means it is time to start thinking about your Week 1 lineups.

As I did every week last year, I will once again be delving into the matchups to highlight guys you might normally start who you should think about sitting and, on the flip side, guys you might normally sit who you should think about starting.

While watching the Browns-Chiefs game on Sunday, one thought dominated my mind: WTF?

Who would have thought that in Week 15, when most leagues are in their Final Four, that the best RB you could have had starting would be Jerome Harrison…or that Joshua Cribbs would total 300+ yards and score 2 TDs.

Unbelievable right?

Well, that’s the beauty and the frustration of fantasy football, and last week certainly proved that nothing is a sure thing in this schizophrenic game that we all play and love.

Now we sit here in Week 16, with some leagues in their championship week while others are in their Final Four, and the only real certainty is that someone unexpected will rise up and have a ridiculous Week 16. The only questions are who it will be and whether or not you will have that player on your roster.

Week 15 Sleepers and Waiver Wire Steals

week-15-sleepers-campbell

It’s been a couple of weeks since we have posted a sleepers and steals article, and with so much riding on this week it seemed like the perfect time for another one.

Plus, while scouring the waiver wire in one of my leagues last night I stumbled upon Quinton Ganther of the Washington Redskins, which surprised me for two reasons: 1) that I hadn’t picked him up yet, and 2) that I was in a league with that many other owners who apparently had taken their eyes off of the road.

Ganther needs to be on your roster folks, especially with a nice matchup this weekend against a New York Giants defense that has given up 17 rushing touchdowns this season.

And speaking of the Redskins, Jason Campbell is another guy possibly sleeping on your waiver wire who could help you win your Week 15 matchup.

Who are some other sleepers and waiver wire steals for Week 15? Let’s take a look.

Bears-49ers Thursday Night Football Fantasy Start/Sit Analysis

Thursday night football is here, which means that our usual lineup setting routines are now thrown out of whack.

Though the Thursday night game won’t affect every team every week, most of us, across all of the leagues that we play in, will most likely have a key decision or two that will have to be made three days earlier than before.

This is annoying and can lead to the unnecessary benching and/or starting of players. The trade-off, however, is an extra night with an NFL game.

Sounds reasonable to me.

Because I know that many of you will be late to the party in realizing that you have to decide on your Bears and 49ers players by tonight, I have taken the liberty of doing the dirty work for you. Here is your 49ers-Bears fantasy analysis, complete with start/sit recommendations so you don’t even have to think about it.
