Thanksgiving Day Football TV Schedule: NFL and College Football

Thanksgiving Day Football TV Schedule: NFL and College Football

Today is the third Thursday in November, which means one thing and one thing only to me and many of you reading this: we are now officially one week away from the greatest meal of the year.

We are also one week away from a day when it is generally accepted in most households that the TV will be tuned to football all day long.

And, of course, we’re one week away from being able to share a wonderful day with friends and family and let them know that we are thankful for their presence in our lives.

But you don’t need our help with that. You’re here for one thing and one thing only: the Thanksgiving Day TV schedule for the NFL and college football games that will accompany our turkey, stuffing, pumpkin pie, and eventual food coma.

Let’s get right to it.

NFL Week 11 Picks, Point Spreads, TV Schedule, and Announcer Lineup

NFL Week 11 Picks, Point Spreads, TV Schedule, and Announcer Lineup

BAM! Now that’s what I call a comeback.

After two straight sub-.500 weeks that had me one more really bad week away from the .500 line for the year, I dominated in Week 10. After a 12-3 record picking against the spread, I am now up to 78-58 on the year, which is a very solid 57% success rate.

With how zany and unpredictable the NFL is, and considering the fact that I pick these games based on gut instinct at the beginning of the week, I will take that all day long.

But there is no time to revel in past glory. It’s already Tuesday morning and another week of NFL football starts in less than 72 hours on Thursday night.

As always, here is your TV schedule, announcer lineup, and spread picks for each game.

College Football TV Schedule and Point Spreads – Week 12 (November 21st)

College Football TV Schedule and Point Spreads – Week 12 (November 21st)

Getting a jump start on next week’s college football TV schedule and point spread post because I don’t want to have to worry about it tomorrow night. Peyton v Brady will have my attention.

Anyway, the schedule is not filled with marquee matchups (Ohio State-Michigan is the headliner, if that tells you anything) but certainly could still be a pivotal week in the overall landscape of the season if any of the top teams stumble.

All will be favored by double digits though, so don’t hold your breath.

Update: The NFL Week 11 TV schedule, point spreads, and picks post is up.

Colts-Patriots.

What else do you need to know about Week 10 of the NFL season?

Yes, I know that there are important divisional matchups like Cincinnati against Pittsburgh and…and…Chiefs-Raiders? Okay, so there aren’t that many compelling games on this week’s schedule. But I’m fine with that.

Week 10 is all about the best rivalry in the NFL: Colts v Patriots, Peyton v Brady, which Myles and I will definitely be breaking this one down later in the week.

Until then, you can see my pick for that game and my picks for all of the other Week 10 games, along with the announcer lineup, in this week’s NFL picks, spreads, and TV schedule post.

College Football Point Spreads and TV Schedule for Week 11, November 14th

College Football Point Spreads and TV Schedule for Week 11, November 14th

How’s this for a one-week swing.

Last week, Iowa was on the cover of Sports Illustrated, #4 in the BCS, and being talked about as a potential BCS championship contender.

This week, they have an injured quarterback, a loss to Northwestern on their resume, are now out of the top 10, and are 13.5 point dogs to Ohio State.

So much for that BCS title, huh Hawkeyes?

Let’s look ahead to Week 11 with this week’s college football TV schedule and point spread table.

NFL Week 9 Picks, Spreads, TV Schedule, and Announcer Lineup

Update: The NFL Week 11 TV schedule, point spreads, and picks post is up.

——————–

Mercy has finally come to Browns fans, as the team is on its bye!

Thus, there can be no Sunday massacre to dampen an otherwise pleasant weekend. And here’s the best part: Cleveland doesn’t play until next Monday night, which further prolongs the days between Browns beat-downs.

In between, there are some great games on the NFL Week 9 schedule for Browns fans, as well as Bills, Vikings, Jets, Raiders, and Rams fans, to distract themselves with, most notably the Sunday and Monday night games, both of which should be excellent and match up Dallas-Philadelphia and Denver-Pittsburgh.

We also get key divisional showdowns including Miami-New England, Houston-Indianapolis, and Baltimore-Cincinnati.

It should be another great weekend of NFL football. So, as we get ready for tonight’s Falcons-Saints Monday nighter, let’s take a look forward at the TV schedule, announcer lineups, point spreads and over-unders, and picks for NFL Week 9.

Indiana Hoosiers Mens Basketball 2009-10 TV Schedule

Indiana Hoosiers Mens Basketball 2009-10 TV Schedule

Wednesday cannot come fast enough. After watching the Browns stumble through another horrible Sunday, I am already excited about the turning the page and moving on to college basketball season.

Truthfully, I’ve always been a college basketball fan more than I am a fan of any other sport, and this year there will be nothing distracting me from following every second of Indiana’s 2009-10 season, which should see Tom Crean and the Hoosier program rebound from the unavoidable train wreck that was the 2008-09 season.

The plot is beginning to thicken, as they say, now that the calendar has turned to November.

Florida, Texas, and Alabama still appear to be the class of college football, with people still wondering exactly how good teams like Iowa, Boise State, and TCU really are.

And then there are the Oregons — teams written off because of an early season loss that have rebounded — who are charging up the top 25 and looking to play spoiler, if not outright BCS party crasher.

Let’s look ahead to Week 10 and the tv schedule and point spreads for Saturday, November 7th. LSU-Alabama is obviously the biggest game on the schedule, but there are some other ones that you’ll want to keep your eye on as well.

Yankees-Phillies 2009 World Series Preview and TV Schedule

Yankees-Phillies 2009 World Series Preview and TV Schedule

There will not be a freeway series this year in baseball, nor will there be a cross-country coastal series. There will be an “Amtrak” Series, however.

And hopefully the Phils and Yanks will travel like The Babe did in the old days when they commute back and forth over the next week or so in the Fall Classic.

By virtue of a clutch game 4 win that gave them series control and an eventual second consecutive NL pennant, the Philadelphia Phillies will take on the New York Yankees, fresh off another close victory and series win over the gutsy Anaheim Angels.

Opening Week Preview for 2009-10 NBA Season

Opening Week Preview for 2009-10 NBA Season

Kobe Bryant jumps in the air, giving a sweet vision back in time to Jordan’s celebration after knocking down the buzzer-beater that put a dagger in the heart of Karl Malone and Jazz fans alike. Watching was a sea of blue and white disappointed fans.

Yes, the Lakers were 2009 NBA Champions as they finished off the Orlando Magic in 5 games. What an incredible season.

A season that included LeBron finally being able to crown himself the best in the 08-09 season with a much deserved MVP award. A season where Dwight Howard showed us REALLY how to play defense, as he stole the 08-09 season’s Defensive Player of the Year. A season where Dwyane Wade put on a show nearly every night in Miami.

Yes, the season was great even for Knicks, Jazz, Hornets and all NBA fans alike…because regardless of how your teams performed, the individual performances were spectacular.

But that season is over.

NFL Week 8 Picks, Point Spreads, TV Schedule, and Announcer Lineup

NFL Week 8 Picks, Point Spreads, TV Schedule, and Announcer Lineup

Update: The NFL Week 11 TV schedule, point spreads, and picks post is up.

——————–

After having my first sub-.500 spread picking week in Week 6, I was able to bounce back in Week 7.

Coming into tonight’s Monday Nighter between the Redskins and Eagles (I took the Eagles -7.5, which is looking good so far) I was sitting at 7-4 for the week and 56-41 overall. The overall total could be a game or two off, but pretty solid regardless.

[Update: 8-4 for the week and 57-41 overall thanks to the Eagles' 10-point W.]

Looking ahead to Week 8, we have another week with six teams on bye. However, unlike Week 7, the schedule is filled with solid games: Denver-Baltimore, Giants-Eagles, Dolphins-Jets, Falcons-Saints.

Oh yeah, and Vikings-Packers…the return of Brett Favre to Lambeau Field.

It’s time to look ahead to this Saturday with this weekend’s college football TV schedule and point spreads.

The majority of this weekend’s games will be played on October 31st, which is, of course, Halloweeen. With top teams like Florida, Iowa, and Texas all being favored by nine points or more, their fans are certainly hoping that Saturday does not turn out to be a night of terror.

NFL Week 7 Picks, Point Spreads, TV Schedule and Announcer Pairings

NFL Week 7 Picks, Point Spreads, TV Schedule and Announcer Pairings

Update: The NFL Week 11 TV schedule, point spreads, and picks post is up.

——————–

As I post this while getting ready for the Monday battle between Denver and San Diego, I am hoping the Chargers can prove me right and cover the 3.5 spread. If they do, it would allow me to sneak through a pretty forgettable Week 6 with a 7-6 record. (Update: Well, they didn’t, so I went 6-7. Awesome.)

Otherwise, I’ll have my first sub-.500 week of the season.

I’m still sitting a 49-36 heading into tonight’s game, so at worst I’ll be 12 games up, and I guess that’s no so bad. (Update: Current record: 49-37.)

But as we always do on Monday nights here at MSF, it’s time to look forward to next week. Hence, here we are with our usual look at next week’s TV schedule and point spreads, plus spread picks for each game.

And Myles and I will be here later in the week with the 4th and Short Podcast, where we discuss and pick the most compelling games on the schedule. So bookmark this page and come back, or be on the lookout Wednesday night/Thursday morning on the homepage.

This past weekend featured a few surefire gems in Texas-Oklahoma and USC-Notre Dame. Neither game disappointed as both games were one possession away from the lead changing when the final buzzer sounded.

In all, there were five matchups between top 25 teams to keep college football fans excited.

This weekend? Not so much.

TCU-BYU highlights what is a pretty lackluster week of matchups. Of course, this will probably mean that Week 8 of the 2009 college football season will end up being the most dramatic; and it could be, if Mississippi State can upset Florida, or Tennessee can upset Alabama, or Missouri can upset Texas.

Of course, based on the point spreads, none of these upsets appears likely.

ALCS Preview: Anaheim Angels vs New York Yankees

ALCS Preview: Anaheim Angels vs New York Yankees

[Writers's Note: As someone raised in southern California who attended dozens of Angels games during his college years, including two playoff games in 2002, I will refer to the Angels' city as Anaheim, not Los Angeles nor "Los Angeles of Anaheim."]

No doubt we have the two best teams in the AL — perhaps in baseball — playing for the American League pennant.

The New York Yankees surpassed 100 wins this season and reclaimed the AL East as their own. The Anaheim Angels continued their dominance of the AL West with another 90+ win season and division title.

Fans should be ecstatic to see this quality matchup.

It also presents many story lines.
