About Andy Bottoms

While Andy was born and raised in Indiana, he would like to point out that he grew up shooting hoops in his driveway and not against the side of a barn like you see in all the March Madness promos or in the middle of a field like Jimmy Chitwood. Andy ranks among the top bracketologists according to the Bracket Matrix and has provided his projections to Fox Sports for the past three seasons. When not compiling excuses for missing work during the NCAA Tournament, Andy enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. He is a proud IU graduate and co-hosts The Assembly Call postgame show following every IU game. Twitter: @AndyBottoms

Projecting the 2014-15 NCAA Tournament Field

2015 NCAA Tournament

College basketball season tips off on Friday, which means it’s time for me to recklessly speculate on which teams will hear their names called on Selection Sunday.

NCAA Tournament Bracket Projections: Final

Virginia ACC Champions

After a busy Saturday on the hardwood, there’s still a lot to be decided, particularly on the two, three, and four lines of the bracket. Fourteen automatic bids were handed out, which leaves just five more to be awarded on Selection Sunday.

NCAA Tournament Bracket Projections: February 5

Tyler Ennis

With less than six weeks remaining until Selection Sunday, there were some interesting decisions to be made when putting together this week’s bracket.

NCAA Tournament Bracket Projections: January 21

Aaron Gordon

Believe it or not, we’re now less than eight weeks from Selection Sunday, and things are starting to take shape with conference play in full swing. Three of the four top seeds are no-brainers at this point, with Arizona, Michigan State and Syracuse running away from the pack. But the fourth is another matter entirely. […]

NCAA Tournament Bracket Projections: Dec. 20

Believe it or not, I think it’s actually easier to do preseason bracket projections than it is to do them right now.

Projecting the 2013-14 NCAA Tournament Field

2014 Final Four

The college basketball season tips off on Friday, and what better way to celebrate than with some dangerously early NCAA Tournament projections? Nope, I can’t think of a better way either.

Final NCAA Tournament Bracket Projections: March 17

Friday proved to be yet another outstanding day of basketball, complete with the same level of unpredictability we’ve come to expect this season. With so many bubble teams losing, it turned out to be a good day to be idle as teams like Saint Mary’s and Middle Tennessee can attest.

NCAA Tournament Bracket Projections: Feb. 27

Tuesday night’s slate looked to be an uneventful one, but two potential number one seeds wound up going down on the road, as Minnesota knocked off top-ranked IU while surging Tennessee took care of a short-handed Florida squad. Those two results, along with Memphis’ road loss at Xavier, produced a small shakeup in this week’s bracket.

NCAA Tournament Bracket Projections: Feb. 19

Selection Sunday is now less than a month away, and the bracket remains as fluid as ever. Nearly every bubble team lost at least once last week, and at this point you can pretty much draw names out of hat once you get to the last eight or 10 teams being discussed.

NCAA Tournament Bracket Projections: Feb. 12th

The same kinds of upsets that are celebrated during the NCAA Tournament are somehow being used as an indictment of the 2012-13 season, but I have no complaints about such an unpredictable year. Well, maybe one.

NCAA Tournament Bracket Projections: Feb. 5th

It's been all smiles of late for Tom Crean and IU, but some tough decisions lay in his future. Credit: ESPN

Selection Sunday is less than six weeks away, and now that we’ve hit February I’m going to start doing weekly projections. The projections below take into account all games played through Monday, February 4th.

NCAA Tournament Bracket Projections: January 22nd

We’re now less than two months from Selection Sunday, so it’s time for another set of bracket projections.

NCAA Tournament Bracket Projections: January 8th

This bracket projection below takes into account all games played through Monday, January 8th. You may think I don’t know what I’m talking about. You may be right. But it’s worth pointing out that I did finish second last season according to the Bracket Project. I fully plan on living off of that for the remainder of the year, so don’t say I didn’t warn you.
