Photographer Rocky Widner, who snaps pictures for NBA Entertainment, took the picture on the left during LeBron James’s NBA debut against the Sacramento Kings on October 29, 2003. James had 25 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists for the Cleveland Cavaliers in a losing effort.
Widner also took the picture on the right, this time during the Miami Heat’s victory over the Kings on Saturday.
The photographer, player, move, angle, and arena are all the same, just separated by 9 years and 2 1/2 months.
There were a lot more people in the stands at Sleep Train/ARCO Arena a decade ago.
Oh, and that’s Francisco Garcia getting posterized there on the right.
