Seahawks Destroy 49ers … Are They Super Bowl Contenders?

Whoever wasn’t on the Seahawks bandwagon, you can jump on board now.

They just proved they can hang with anyone, and I honestly believe they are Super Bowl contenders.

Before you dismiss me as a homer, think back on Seattle’s season.

They beat the Pats, Green Bay, Chicago, and now the 49ers. The class of the league have been shown up by rookie sensation Russell Wilson, beast Marshawn Lynch, and that brutal defense.

What do we want in our Super Bowl favorites?

  • A great QB. Check.
  • A solid run game to control the clock and hold a lead. Check.
  • A vicious defense that forces turnovers and holds their ground. Check.

With all that said, why can’t the Seahawks be a contender? I think they have just as good of a shot as anyone.

Can we honestly say there’s a clear favorite to win it all? We see flaws in all of the top teams, so why not root for a little West Coast magic?

I know I’ll be pulling for the Seahawks come playoff time. Consider this my invitation to you all to join Seahawks nation.

Comments

  1. They’ll have to win on the road in January. I don’t see that happening, but then again, unlike the NBA, NFL playoffs are not predictable. No one is intimidated by going into Atlanta. Heading into GB? That’s tough.

  3. Seattle did not beat the Pack, I wouln’t boast about that. Thats quite alright the Pack will reign.

  4. dlbrumfiel says:

last time I checked it was a W for the hawks and L for the losers,I mean Packers, enough whining already it won’t get you to the superbowl

  5. AJ Kaufman says:

Considering what happened in September, I believe GB would beat Seattle by 20+ points in Wisconsin in January. Not an NFL guy, so won’t predict any further, but Seattle in the Super Bowl w/o home games? Highly improbable, Trevor.
