NFL Week 15 Picks, Previews, and Point Spreads

With only three weeks left in the regular season, every game takes on added importance. There are still a wide array of playoff possibilities, but that will be reduced and the playoff picture will become more clear after this weekend’s games.

NFL Week 15 Viewer’s and Bettor’s Guide

Cincinnati Bengals at Philadelphia Eagles

  • Bengals-Eagles Date: Thursday, December 13
  • Bengals-Eagles Kickoff Time: 8:20 PM
  • Bengals-Eagles TV Network: NFL Network
  • Bengals-Eagles Point Spread: Bengals -5.5
  • Bengals-Eagles Over-Under Odds: 45
  • Bengals-Eagles Pick: This game was covered in a preview posted on MSF early Thursday morning, which contained more in-depth analysis for this matchup. The short analysis is that even though the Eagles finally ended their eight-game losing streak last week, there is no way the Bengals will falter in this game that means so much to their playoff chances. Bengals -5.5

New York Giants at Atlanta Falcons

  • Giants-Falcons Date: Sunday, December 16
  • Giants-Falcons Kickoff Time: 1 PM
  • Giants-Falcons TV Network: FOX
  • Giants-Falcons Point Spread: Falcons -1
  • Giants-Falcons Over-Under Odds: 51
  • Giants-Falcons Pick: The Falcons suffered their second loss of the season last week to the Panthers in a game that saw them down 16-0 at halftime. They are 6-0 at home this season, which gives them the edge in the spread, but their performance last week leaves this game a tossup. The Giants had a huge 52-27 win over the Saints last week, and come into this game with far more momentum than the Falcons. This game is a rematch from last year’s Wild Card playoffs, and will have the same result as that game last year. Giants +1

Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears

  • Packers-Bears Date: Sunday, December 16
  • Packers-Bears Kickoff Time: 1 PM
  • Packers-Bears TV Network: FOX
  • Packers-Bears Point Spread: Packers -2.5
  • Packers-Bears Over-Under Odds: 42
  • Packers-Bears Pick: The Bears are 1-4 in their last five games and have lost two in a row. Last week’s loss came to the Vikings, which helped Minnesota stay in playoff contention. The Packers have won two in a row, with the those both being against the other two NFC North opponents, the Lions and Vikings. The Packers will make that three in a row over their division rivals with a win in Chicago. Packers -2.5

Washington Redskins at Cleveland Browns

  • Redskins-Browns Date: Sunday, December 16
  • Redskins-Browns Kickoff Time: 1 PM
  • Redskins-Browns TV Network: FOX
  • Redskins-Browns Point Spread: Redskins -1
  • Redskins-Browns Over-Under Odds: 51
  • Redskins-Browns Pick: It is official that Kirk Cousins will make the start for the Redskins against the Browns. He came in late against the Ravens to throw the game-tying touchdown pass and two-point conversion that led to an overtime victory over the Ravens, which gave the Redskins their fourth win in a row. The Browns have won three in a row themselves, and are 4-3 at home this season. With RG III out in this game, take the Browns at home. Browns +1

Minnesota Vikings at St. Louis Rams

  • Vikings-Rams Date: Sunday, December 16
  • Vikings-Rams Kickoff Time: 1 PM
  • Vikings-Rams TV Network: FOX
  • Vikings-Rams Point Spread: Rams -3
  • Vikings-Rams Over-Under Odds: 38.5
  • Vikings-Rams Pick: The Rams have kept their playoff hopes alive with three consecutive wins. One of the three came against the 49ers, who they have not lost to this season, as the first matchup ended in a tie. The Vikings are 2-4 in their last six games, but had a great win over the Bears last week. They do struggle on the road, (they are 1-5 on the road this season), but they need a win in this game and will come through. Vikings +3

Jacksonville Jaguars at Miami Dolphins

  • Jaguars-Dolphins Date: Sunday, December 16
  • Jaguars-Dolphins Kickoff Time: 1 PM
  • Jaguars-Dolphins TV Network: CBS
  • Jaguars-Dolphins Point Spread: Dolphins -7
  • Jaguars-Dolphins Over-Under Odds: 37
  • Jaguars-Dolphins Pick: The Dolphins have lost five of their last six games after a 4-3 start to fall to 5-8. Their only win in this stretch came against Seattle in Week 12, and it was a tight three-point victory. They face a lesser opponent this week when they take on Jacksonville, who only has two victories on the year. Jacksonville has shown. The Dolphins will win this game, but the margin of victory may be less than a touchdown. That is why it is not a bad idea to go with the Jaguars in this game, even though their record and reputation are nothing to be impressed with. Jaguars +7

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New Orleans Saints

  • Buccaneers-Saints Date: Sunday, December 16
  • Buccaneers-Saints Kickoff Time: 1 PM
  • Buccaneers-Saints TV Network: FOX
  • Buccaneers-Saints Point Spread: Saints -3.5
  • Buccaneers-Saints Over-Under Odds: 54
  • Buccaneers-Saints Pick: The Bucs were 6-4 and in contention for the playoffs before losing their last three games. They lost to Philadelphia on Sunday, which ended Philly’s eight-game losing streak. The Saints have also lost their last three games, but have already beaten the Bucs once this season. Both teams are fading as the year is coming to a close, but the Saints will win this game based on pure talent. Saints -3.5

Denver Broncos at Baltimore Ravens

  • Broncos-Ravens Date: Sunday, December 16
  • Broncos-Ravens Kickoff Time: 1 PM
  • Broncos-Ravens TV Network: CBS
  • Broncos-Ravens Point Spread: Broncos -3
  • Broncos-Ravens Over-Under Odds: 48
  • Broncos-Ravens Pick: The Ravens are a tough team to bet on as they always have a great record, but fail to come through in big games. This proved true last week when they lost to the Redskins in overtime, who were being led by Kirk Cousins. He threw a late touchdown pass, followed by a two-point conversion to take the game into overtime, where a field goal gave the Redskins the win. The Broncos have already clinched their division, but have no signs of slowing down after winning their last eight games. They are playing for seeding at this point, and a win over the Ravens would get them closer to attaining a first-round bye. Broncos -3

Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans

  • Colts-Texans Date: Sunday, December 16
  • Colts-Texans Kickoff Time: 1 PM
  • Colts-Texans TV Network: CBS
  • Colts-Texans Point Spread: Texans -9
  • Colts-Texans Over-Under Odds: 48
  • Colts-Texans Pick: The Colts are getting no respect in the spread, even though they are 9-4 this season. They have won seven of their last eight games and have yet to play the Texans once this season. Houston is coming off a blowout loss to the Patriots, but are still 11-2 this season. While the Texans are favorites in this game, a nine-point spread is way too high in this game. The Colts will show why they deserve more respect when they keep it close against the Texans. Colts +9

Seattle Seahawks at Buffalo Bills

  • Seahawks-Bills Date: Sunday, December 16
  • Seahawks-Bills Kickoff Time: 4:05 PM
  • Seahawks-Bills TV Network: FOX
  • Seahawks-Bills Point Spread: Seahawks -6
  • Seahawks-Bills Over-Under Odds: 46.5
  • Seahawks-Bills: The Seahawks still have a shot to win the NFC West and will take on the Bills, who have not beat a team with a winning record all season. The Bills have struggled, as usual, while the Seahawks destroyed the Cardinals by the score of 58-0 last week. Their defense will shut down the offense of Buffalo, and give them a much needed win at this point in the season. Seahawks -6

Detroit Lions at Arizona Cardinals

  • Lions-Cardinals Date: Sunday, December 16
  • Lions-Cardinals Kickoff Time: 4:05 PM
  • Lions-Cardinals TV Network: FOX
  • Lions-Cardinals Point Spread: Lions -6.5
  • Lions-Cardinals Over-Under Odds: 44
  • Lions-Cardinals Pick: The Lions are 4-9 this year largely due to the fact that they cannot close out games. They have lost their last five, which is not too bad compared to the nine in a row lost by the Cardinals. Things went even worse for the Cardinals last week when they lost 58-0 to the Seahawks. They are an entirely different team from the one who began the year 4-0, and stand no chance against the Lions. Lions -6.5

Carolina Panthers at San Diego Chargers

  • Panthers-Chargers Date: Sunday, December 16
  • Panthers-Chargers Kickoff Time: 4:05 PM
  • Panthers-Chargers TV Network: FOX
  • Panthers-Chargers Point Spread: Chargers -3
  • Panthers-Chargers Over-Under Odds: 45
  • Panthers-Chargers Pick: Both the Panthers and Chargers are having rough years this year, but they had impressive wins last week. The Panthers defeated the Falcons by ten points , while the Chargers had a ten-point win over the Steelers. The Chargers may be the favorites in this game, but the Panthers are beginning to turn things around. Panthers +3

Pittsburgh Steelers at Dallas Cowboys

  • Steelers-Cowboys Date: Sunday, December 16
  • Steelers-Cowboys Kickoff Time: 4:25 PM
  • Steelers-Cowboys TV Network: CBS
  • Steelers-Cowboys Point Spread: Steelers -2
  • Steelers-Cowboys Over-Under Odds: 44
  • Steelers-Cowboys Pick: The Cowboys had a rough 3-5 start, but have gone 4-1 since that point to get to 7-6 on the year. They have won their last two, with last week’s win coming as time expired against the Bengals. The Steelers are barely holding on to the final playoff spot in the AFC, as they have lost their last two games. Based on their recent performance, this game should be close throughout, but ultimately one that is won by the Cowboys. Cowboys +2

Kansas City Chiefs at Oakland Raiders

  • Chiefs-Raiders Date: Sunday, December 16
  • Chiefs-Raiders Kickoff Time: 4:25 PM
  • Chiefs-Raiders TV Network: CBS
  • Chiefs-Raiders Point Spread: Raiders -3
  • Chiefs-Raiders Over-Under Odds: 44
  • Chiefs-Raiders Pick: These two teams are both at the bottom of the AFC with their combined record of 5-21. The Raiders have lost their last six games, with their last win coming against the Chiefs. The Chiefs picked up one of their two wins this year two weeks ago against the Panthers, which came right after the Jovan Belcher tragedy. They are just not a good enough team to do anything more than get a few sporadic wins per year, and will lose once again this week. Raiders -3

San Francisco 49ers at New England Patriots

  • 49ers-Patriots Date: Sunday, December 16
  • 49ers-Patriots Kickoff Time: 8:20 PM
  • 49ers-Patriots TV Network: NBC
  • 49ers-Patriots Point Spread: Patriots -6
  • 49ers-Patriots Over-Under Odds: 46.5
  • 49ers-Patriots Pick: The Patriots have been dominant all season, with their three losses coming by a combined four points. They have won six in a row and once again won the AFC East. The 49ers have only had a few slip-ups this season, along with an inability to beat the Rams. The Patriots are the better team in this game, but it should be close. 49ers +6

New York Jets at Tennessee Titans

  • Jets-Titans Date: Monday, December 17
  • Jets-Titans Kickoff Time: 8:30 PM
  • Jets-Titans TV Network: ESPN
  • Jets-Titans Point Spread: Titans -1.5
  • Jets-Titans Over-Under Odds: 41.5
  • Jets-Titans Pick: The Jets still have a chance to make the playoffs, which is a terrifying thought to many people out there. They are the underdogs in this game even though the Titans have lost their last three games. The Jets have won two in a row, and will get back to .500 with a win on Monday night. Jets +1.5

Last Week: 5-8-2

Yearly Record: 95-104-9
