NFL Week 9 Picks, Point Spreads, and TV Schedule

Last week was a fairly predictable week in the NFL, as it is becoming more clear about which teams are for real and which are fading away.

This week will take every team to the halfway point in the season, which will give us a demarcation point to begin predicting how the second half will pan out.

NFL Week 9 Viewer’s and Bettor’s Guide

TV Schedules – Point Spreads – Kickoff Times – Picks

Kansas City Chiefs at San Diego Chargers

  • Chiefs-Chargers Date: Thursday, November 1
  • Chiefs-Chargers Kickoff Time: 8:20 PM
  • Chiefs-Chargers TV Network: NFL Network
  • Chiefs-Chargers Point Spread: Chargers -8
  • Chiefs-Chargers Over-Under Odds: 42
  • Chiefs-Chargers Pick: Both teams are on losing streaks of at least three games (the Chiefs have lost four in a row), so one of them will finally end their streak. The Chargers did lose to the Browns by the score of 7-6, but they will be able to bounce back against the Chiefs. KC has been playing like the worst team in the league, and they will further cement that reputation with a loss against San Diego. Chargers -8

Denver Broncos at Cincinnati Bengals

  • Broncos-Bengals Date: Sunday, November 4
  • Broncos-Bengals Kickoff Time: 1 PM
  • Broncos-Bengals TV Network: CBS
  • Broncos-Bengals Point Spread: Broncos -4
  • Broncos-Bengals Over-Under Odds: 47.5
  • Broncos-Bengals Pick: The Broncos are becoming the team that they hoped they could be under Peyton Manning. This became evident in their past two wins, including the 35-0 second half run against the Chargers three weeks ago. The Bengals are on a three-game losing streak and are coming off of their bye week. With a small spread like this one, look for the Broncos to win handily. Broncos -4

Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns

  • Ravens-Browns Date: Sunday, November 4
  • Ravens-Browns Kickoff Time: 1 PM
  • Ravens-Browns TV Network: CBS
  • Ravens-Browns Point Spread: Ravens -4
  • Ravens-Browns Over-Under Odds: 42.5
  • Ravens-Browns Pick: The first time these two teams met was in Week 4, and it was a tightly contested game. The Ravens won 23-16, but the Browns had many chances to win the game, or at least tie. The difference this time around may be momentum. The Browns beat the Chargers on Sunday in an ugly game, but it was a win nonetheless. The Ravens were on their bye week following a 43-13 loss to the Texans. Houston dismantled Baltimore both on offense and defense. The Browns may not win this game straight up, but with the spread the chances are much better. Browns +4

Arizona Cardinals at Green Bay Packers

  • Cardinals-Packers Date: Sunday, November 4
  • Cardinals-Packers Kickoff Time: 1 PM
  • Cardinals-Packers TV Network: FOX
  • Cardinals-Packers Point Spread: Packers -11
  • Cardinals-Packers Over-Under Odds: 43.5
  • Cardinals-Packers Pick: The Cardinals have not won a game since September 30th, which was when they improved to 4-0. They are now 4-4 and are looking even worse after a 24-3 loss to the 49ers on Monday night. The Packers do not have these issues, as they are on a three-game winning streak. They are tied for second in the NFC North with Minnesota, and are once again in the NFC playoff picture. While they will surely win this game, it is tricky to take double-digit spreads. Games can be unpredictable and won at the last second, so taking Arizona with the spread is a safe bet. Cardinals +11

Chicago Bears at Tennessee Titans

  • Titans-Bears Date: Sunday, November 4
  • Titans-Bears Kickoff Time: 1 PM
  • Titans-Bears TV Network: FOX
  • Titans-Bears Point Spread: Bears -4
  • Titans-Bears Over-Under Odds: 43.5
  • Titans-Bears Pick: The Bears are continuing to roll along at 6-1 after last week’s one point win over the Panthers. They hold the second-highest winning percentage in the league and are at the top of their division. The Titans were on a two-game winning streak before being defeated by the Colts in overtime last week. They have begun to turn things around, but the Bears are too good of a team to drop a game to the Titans at this point in the season. Bears -4

Miami Dolphins at Indianapolis Colts

  • Dolphins-Colts Date: Sunday, November 4
  • Dolphins-Colts Kickoff Time: 1 PM
  • Dolphins-Colts TV Network: CBS
  • Dolphins-Colts: Point Spread: Dolphins -1
  • Dolphins-Colts Over-Under Odds: 43
  • Dolphins-Colts Pick: The success of both teams in this matchup is relatively surprising. Both teams are 4-3 and are currently fifth and sixth respectively in the AFC. The Dolphins have won three in a row including last week’s 30-9 blowout of the Jets. The Colts have won two straight but have had issues scoring a lot of points in games this season. Even if Ryan Tannehill is not one-hundred percent in this game, the Dolphins will win. Dolphins -1

Carolina Panthers at Washington Redskins

  • Panthers-Redskins Date: Sunday, November 4
  • Panthers-Redskins Kickoff Time: 1 PM
  • Panthers-Redskins TV Network: FOX
  • Panthers-Redskins Point Spread: Redskins -3.5
  • Panthers-Redskins Over-Under Odds:47
  • Panthers-Redskins Pick: Cam Newton and the Panthers have not won since Week 2, but they get close every week. They struggle at closing out games, which is evident of any young team. They head to Washington to take on the Redskins who have lost two straight, albeit against two tough teams in the Giants and Steelers. As mentioned, the Panthers have been close in their losses. Their largest margin of defeat in their last four games was five points, so they are a good bet against the Redskins. Panthers +3.5

Detroit Lions at Jacksonville Jaguars

  • Lions-Jaguars Date: Sunday, November 4
  • Lions-Jaguars Kickoff Time: 1 PM
  • Lions-Jaguars TV Network: FOX
  • Lions-Jaguars Point Spread: Lions -4
  • Lions-Jaguars Over-Under Odds: 44
  • Lions-Jaguars Pick: The Lions come into this game in last place in the NFC North at 3-4, but they have a perfect chance to get back to .500 on Sunday. The Jaguars are once again one of the worst teams int he league and have proved that with their 1-6 record. The spread is surprisingly small in this game, and the Lions will prove that with a big win in Jacksonville. Lions -4

Buffalo Bills at Houston Texans

  • Bills-Texans Date: Sunday, November 4
  • Bills-Texans Kickoff Time: 1 PM
  • Bills-Texans TV Network: CBS
  • Bills-Texans Point Spread: Texans -10.5
  • Bills-Texans Over-Under Odds: 47
  • Bills-Texans Pick: The Texans suffered their first loss of the season three weeks ago against Green Bay. This did little to slow them down as they came back and beat the Ravens 43-13 a week later. They are coming off of their bye week to take on the Bills, who are also fresh off a bye. In three of their losses the Bills have lost by double-digits. The Texans will win this game, and will do so by a large margin of victory, just as it has been all year for the Bills. Texans -10.5

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Oakland Raiders

  • Buccaneers-Raiders Date: Sunday, November 4
  • Buccaneers-Raiders Kickoff Time: 4:05 PM
  • Buccaneers-Raiders TV Network: FOX
  • Buccaneers-Raiders Point Spread: Raiders -1
  • Buccaneers-Raiders Over-Under Odds: 46.5
  • Buccaneers-Raiders Pick: After a 1-3 start, the Bucs have won two of their last three, including last week’s shocking 36-17 defeat of the Vikings. The Raiders come in with an identical 3-4 record and are on a two-game winning streak. The only difference is that the Raiders have beaten the Jaguars and Chiefs during the past two weeks. Neither are impressive victories, so the Bucs come into this game far more prepared. Buccaneers +1

Minnesota Vikings at Seattle Seahawks

  • Vikings-Seahawks Date: Sunday, November 4
  • Vikings-Seahawks Kickoff Time: 4:05 PM
  • Vikings-Seahawks TV Network: FOX
  • Vikings-Seahawks Point Spread: Seahawks -5
  • Vikings-Seahawks Over-Under Odds: 38.5
  • Vikings-Seahawks Pick: The Seahawks have lost two in a row but they are still the favorites in this game. That is due to their 3-0 record at home this season, in one of the toughest places to play for opposing teams. The Vikings will try to give the Seahawks their first home loss, and they are certainly capable of doing so. Except for last week’s blowout loss to the Bucs, the Vikings have been playing solid football all year. They should be able to take this game with the spread, just not straight up. Vikings +5

Pittsburgh Steelers at New York Giants

  • Steelers-Giants Date: Sunday, November 4
  • Steelers-Giants Kickoff Time: 4:25 PM
  • Steelers-Giants TV Network: CBS
  • Steelers-Giants Point Spread: Giants -3.5
  • Steelers-Giants Over-Under Odds: 47.5
  • Steelers-Giants Pick: The Giants are once again one of the top teams in the NFC at 6-2 and are currently three wins ahead of the three other teams in the NFC East. They have won four straight, which includes a 26-3 defeat of the 49ers. The Steelers turned things around after a 1-2 start by winning three of their last four. While they are getting back to their usual level of performance, the Giants are too good right now to be beaten at home. Giants -3.5

Dallas Cowboys at Atlanta Falcons

  • Cowboys-Falcons Date: Sunday, November 4
  • Cowboys-Falcons Kickoff Time: 8:20 PM
  • Cowboys-Falcons TV Network: NBC
  • Cowboys-Falcons Point Spread: Falcons -4.5
  • Cowboys-Falcons Over-Under Odds: 47.5
  • Cowboys-Falcons Pick: The Falcons were actually underdogs against the Eagles in their last game, which ended in a 30-17 victory for the Falcons. They have cemented themselves as the best team in the league and will continue that against Dallas. The Cowboys have lost three of their last four, and they are falling way behind the Giants in the NFC East. A wild card berth is their only chance this season, but they will be further behind after a loss to Atlanta. Falcons -4.5

Philadelphia Eagles at New Orleans Saints

  • Eagles-Saints Date: Monday, November 5
  • Eagles-Saints Kickoff Time: 8:30 PM
  • Eagles-Saints TV Network: ESPN
  • Eagles-Saints Point Spread: Saints -3.5
  • Eagles-Saints Over-Under Odds: 52
  • Eagles-Saints Pick: The Eagles have clearly fallen out of favor in the eyes of those making the odds, as they went from favorites against Atlanta to underdogs against New Orleans. They have lost three in a row and are beginning to question Michael Vick as their starting quarterback. The Saints were blown out by the Broncos last week, but that came after two consecutive wins. The Saints will take this game, while the Eagles will have many questions to ask about many in the organization. Saints -3.5

Last Week: 10-4

Yearly Record: 54-59-4
