Monday Night Football will feature a game that few outside of Carolina and Philadelphia will care about tonight. The 2-8 Panthers head to Philly to take on the 3-7 Eagles. Both teams have clearly struggled all season, so it will be interesting to see which team steps up in this game.

Carolina Panthers
Cam Newton has been in nearly every game this season but has not been able to come out with wins. Closing out games is what separates the good teams from the bad, and the Panthers remain as one of the league’s worst teams.
In their eight losses this season, the Panthers have only lost by double-digits twice, which is impressive for a team with a 2-8 record. These close losses include a two-point loss against then-undefeated Atlanta, a one-point loss to the Bears, and last week’s six-point overtime loss to the Bucs.
Cam Newton shoulders a lot of the blame for the performance of the Panthers this season, but he is not doing all that bad. He has the pressure of being quarterback while also being the team’s leading rusher and leader in rushing touchdowns. He may be a dual-threat quarterback, but the running backs in Carolina have to help out their quarterback with the workload.
Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles were 3-1 at one point this season, but that was before their six consecutive losses that see them currently sitting with a record of 3-7. Andy Reid is on the verge of getting fired, and Michael Vick is currently out with a concussion, so nothing is looking positive for fans in Philadelphia.
Nick Foles will start his second game in a row tonight, after a rough first start last week. He threw 46 passes, only completing 21 of those for 204 yards and no touchdowns. He threw two interceptions in a 31-6 loss against the Redskins.
He wasn’t helped out in the running game by LeSean McCoy, who only had 45 yards on 15 carries. This must change for the Eagles to have any chance tonight.
Foles must also try and find DeSean Jackson more than the two times he successfully threw to him last week.
Panthers-Eagles Prediction
Both teams have had awful seasons, but the Panthers will pick up the win due to the current free fall the Eagles find themselves in.
