Proud Day: First MSF Charity Initiative Complete, Check Mailed!

It is with great pride that I write this post.

In fact, I’m bringing more pride to this post than to any other I’ve ever written here at MSF.

And the reason is that I am about to put this in the mail to the fine folks at Operation Homefront.

Back in February, I told you about our new charity initiative here at MSF. The goal was simple: to take a small portion of the revenue we make from every pageview and donate it to a worthy cause.

The first worthy cause that we chose was Operation Homefront, which fulfilled the collective objective of our writing staff to support the men and women who serve and protect our nation’s freedom. We don’t know exactly where this money will allocated, but we do know that it will support someone who has put his or her civilian life on hold (and possibly on the line) to serve in the military.

Knowing that our efforts here at MSF are enabling us to do this is what fills me with such pride today. I know everyone on our writing staff feels this same.

And this is where I want to thank you, the reader, as well.

Obviously the amount of our donation was dictated by our traffic numbers. The reason we are able to make such a substantial contribution is because of your continued visits to the site and your willingness to share it with others. Nothing that we do here is possible without you, so do know how much your visits are appreciated.

With our Operation Homefront initiative ending, it doesn’t mean that the MSF Charity Initiative is going away. Not in the slightest. We’re just partnering with a new organization for the next handful of months.

The new organization we will be supporting is Limbs For Life.

The mission of Limbs For Life is to provide fully functional prosthetic care for individuals who cannot otherwise afford it while raising awareness of the challenges facing amputees.

It typically costs $2,000 to outfit someone with a new limb, so we are going to support Limbs For Life with our charity initiative until we can write them a check for that exact amount. I can’t wait!

And, of course, we’ll need your help to get there. So keep on reading and enjoying the great content that our earnest and entertaining team of writers churns out on a daily basis, and keep it on sharing it with your friends and family. Every visit counts, as each one gets us one step closer to paying for a prosthetic limb that will drastically improve someone’s life.

Now that’s worth writing and reading for.
