Week 8 is in the books and things are really heating up in fantasy leagues around the globe.
New England, San Francisco, St. Louis, and the Jets are on their bye-week. While Vernon Davis owners can probably use the break, many of you have holes that need to be filled.

Danny Amendola should be back for Week 9, and that makes him an automatic pickup in all leagues.
Fantasy Football Week 9 Waiver Wire Pickups
Carson Palmer, QB, OAK (Yahoo! 47%, FOX 33.7%)
Carson Palmer has very quietly averaged 16 fantasy points per game through Week 8. That’s good enough for 15th in the NFL at the moment.
Another fine reason to roll the dice on Palmer in Week 9 is the fact Tampa Bay ranks 31st in the NFL against the pass.
Chances are, he’s better than your back-up.
Jonathan Dwyer, RB, PIT (Yahoo! 46%, FOX 23.9%)
Dwyer is undoubtedly a risk with Rashard Mendenhall and Isaac Redman soon returning from injury. That being said, this is criminally low ownership for a back that has run for 100 yards in consecutive games.
2012 has proven to be a tough year for Fantasy RBs, and the dried up waiver pool is proof of that. Dwyer really is the only worthy option I can see.
If he’s still around, and you’re hurting, pick him up. Even if you aren’t, pick him up so no one else can.
Danny Amendola, WR, STL (Yahoo! 58%, FOX 26.7%)
I’m always intrigued by some of the differences between Yahoo! And FOX ownership. Amendola being a prime example.
Amendola nearly played this past Sunday, and with the Rams heading in to their bye-week, he’ll be ready for Week 10.
A healthy Amendola is Sam Bradford’s #1 target. That means a very low points basement (Amendola was targeted at least 9 times in each of his 4 complete games). If he’s available, pick him up. I would even recommend trying to work a trade.
Ryan Broyles, WR, DET (Yahoo! 7%, FOX 1.6%)
Most of you just asked, “Who?”
If you need some proof that I, along with others, are really excited about this kid, despite his 1.6% ownership in FOX leagues, he’s already owned in the MSF league.
In the past two weeks, he’s recorded a TD in each of the Lions’ games. He also looks to see more action with Nate Burleson on injury reserve.
If you are in a Dynasty or Keeper league, really give Broyles a look.
Golden Tate, WR, SEA (Yahoo! 10%, FOX 3.9%)
Tate is one of those conditional starts I love. He has 3 catches in every home game this season and guess where Seattle is playing this weekend.
Tate is obviously not an overly high upside type of player, but he’s the kind of guy that will not sink your team. You can count on him for around 4-6 points every game. He only has 3 TDs on the season, but I figure that number will at least double by season’s end.
He’s a deeper format play, but at least you can call your team the Golden Tate Warriors.
