Seattle Seahawks Sign Terrell Owens … But Why?

For Seattle Seahawks fans, it’s the end of the world as we know it.

We signed Terrell Owens.

All we have to do now is wait and let this narcissistic, over-the-hill, diva wide receiver tear our team apart.

I can be frank with myself. I know the Seahawks are not the favorites to win the division this year, so I didn’t expect much.

But this!?

I liked the moves last season to get TE Zach Miller, WR Sidney Rice, and extend RB Marshawn Lynch.

I loved them going out to get QB Matt Flynn, even though we vastly overpaid him. (But then again any option is better than Tavaris Jackson.)

Doug Baldwin is an up-and-coming receiver, and I feel T.O. will stunt his progress and, inevitably, lead to a drama-filled season.

T.O. was a great player, and that’s why teams put up with his nonsense. He’s now 38 years old. I don’t think he has any breakaway speed left in the tank, and I see no reason why Seattle thought it would be a good idea to sign him.

Boy, I can’t wait to sit back, grab a beer, and watch T.O. scream at coaches on the sidelines, cry in press conferences, and maybe do some sit-ups in his driveway.

At the very least, the Seahawks will be more entertaining this year.

But better? Certainly not because of T.O.

If he even makes the team.
