Slikk.com is a slick new search alternative to Google and Bing

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Slikk for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

It wouldn’t seem like there is much room for a new search engine to carve out a niche and make a name for itself, what with Google entrenched as the marketshare leader and Bing gobbling up Yahoo and making a marketing push of its own.

But Slikk.com is looking to compete with the big boys, and it does have a few differentiators that make it worth trying out for yourself.

When you go to Slikk.com, it looks just like Google…so, exactly what you’d expect from a search engine. Simple, uncluttered, and awaiting your query. Once you type in your search, you get a page of 10 results, just like with Google and Bing.

But this is where it gets interesting.

Next to each result is a little button that says “Open.” When you hit this button, the actual page opens up right there in same browser, just off to the right. So now you have your results on the left, you can preview the page on the right, and you can easily toggle back and forth between results.

This allows you to preview the page and others before committing to one and leaving the rest of the search results behind. Pretty nifty.

Slikk.com also has a feature called MySlikk.com where you can easily save and bookmark pages. It also allows you to share them quickly and easily as well.

It will take a search engine with a true differentiator to fill a niche and gain ground on Google and Bing. With Slikk’s “search browsing” setup, plus instant sharing, it defintely offers a different experience. Will it be enough to compete with the big boys? Honestly, who cares. It’s something different from the same ol’, same ‘ol and provides a unique search efficiency; and that in and of itself makes it work giving a try.
