Forget Philip Humber and Josh Hamilton, This Recent Individual Baseball Feat Was Even More Rare

Philip Humber pitched perfect game you say? So what? So did 20 other guys.

Josh Hamilton hit four home runs in one game? Whoop-de-frieking-do. 15 guys did it before him.

But an unassisted triple play? Now that’s a truly rare baseball feat.

In fact, it has happened only 15 times in modern MLB history, the most recent being turned by Eric Bruntlett of the Phillies back in 2009.

So take a break from fawning over Hamilton to recognize this young lad, who recently turned in the rarest of rare individual baseball achievements:

I have no idea who this is, or where the video was taken, but it was posted on May 3rd by YouTuber Berndogg12. If anyone would like to claim this unassisted triple play, or the young man who turned it in, comment below. We’d love to credit where credit is due.

Now back to Hamilton…(who, oh by the way, has five home runs in his last six at bats and has equaled Barry Bonds’ pace from the 73-home run season).
