NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament: Second Round Preview and TV Schedule

The second round of the NCAA Women’s Division I Basketball Tournament begins tonight at 6:00 p.m. Central Time.

In this post, I’ll quickly recap what happened in the first round and look ahead to the second round.

Women’s NCAA Tournament: First Round Recap

The first round saw few surprises. The biggest upset in terms of seeding was #13 Marist’s 76-70 win over #4 Georgia. But first-round upsets are nothing new for the MAAC Champion Red Foxes, who upset #4 Ohio State in 2007 and #7 Iowa State last year.

The only other upsets of note were #11 Kansas over #6 Nebraska in a Big 12 reunion and #11 Gonzaga’s 86-73 victory over Rutgers. The Zags, who have advanced to the Round of 32 in each of the past four NCAA Tournaments, have the advantage of hosting the first two rounds. They face #3 Miami tonight in Spokane.

The 31-1 Green Bay Phoenix easily defeated Iowa State in Ames. They play #2 Kentucky tonight. Meanwhile 31-1 Delaware—featuring the nation’s leading scorer, Elena Delle Donne—got its first NCAA Tournament win in school history, beating Arkansas-Little Rock (in Little Rock) 73-42. The Blue Hens play Kansas tomorrow night.

The most vulnerable top seed in the Second Round is Stanford, who plays West Virginia tonight in Norfolk, Virginia. The Mountaineers, who beat Texas by 13 in the First Round, knocked off Notre Dame in South Bend back in February. Don’t expect any of the other top seeds to have much trouble.

  14. Hello Web Admin, I noticed that your On-Page SEO is is missing a few factors, for one you do not use all three H tags in your post, also I notice that you are not using bold or italics properly in your SEO optimization. On-Page SEO means more now than ever since the new Google update: Panda. No longer are backlinks and simply pinging or sending out a RSS feed the key to getting Google PageRank or Alexa Rankings, You now NEED On-Page SEO. So what is good On-Page SEO?First your keyword must appear in the title. Then it must appear in the URL.You have to optimize your keyword and make sure that it has a nice keyword density of 3-5% in your article with relevant LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing). Then you should spread all H1,H2,H3 tags in your article.Your Keyword should appear in your first paragraph and in the last sentence of the page. You should have relevant usage of Bold and italics of your keyword. There should be one internal link to a page on your blog and you should have one image with an alt tag that has your keyword….wait there’s even more Now what if i told you there was a simple WordPress plugin that does all the On-Page SEO, and automatically for you? That’s right AUTOMATICALLY, just watch this 4minute video for more information at. Seo Plugin
