March Madness: Automatic Bids to 2012 NCAA Tournament

After an exciting, jam-packed Saturday, almost all of the automatic bids to the 2012 NCAA Tournament have been doled out. The table below outlines all of this year’s automatic bids.

One of those automatic bids, incredibly, goes to the guy who said this about his team just a few short weeks ago:


A few quick notes:

  • Later today, automatic bids from the Atlantic 10, Big 10, ACC, and SEC will complete with the list.
  • Here is Andy Bottoms’ most recent bracketology column, which includes all of Saturday’s action.
  • The teams below are all guaranteed of tournament bids. All other teams will have to wait until their names are called during The Selection Show to know they’ll be in the big dance. Earlier this week, Josh Tinley outlined the history of the automatic bid. Read it here.

  1. I’m not sure exactly why but this blog is loading extremely slow for me. Is anyone else having this issue or is it a issue on my end? I’ll check back later and see if the problem still exists.
