New York Giants Super Bowl History: Record, Results, and MVPs

The New York Giants have one of the longest, richest histories in the National Football League.

The New York Football Giants joined the young NFL in 1925, playing their games at the historic Polo Grounds, and won their first league championship two years later.

Only the Cardinals, Packers, and Bears have been around longer, and only the Packers and Bears have more league titles. (If you count the Browns’ four AAFC titles, you can add them to the list too.)

Though three of the Giants’ seven titles came before World War II, they’ve had plenty of success in the Super Bowl era.

  • Super Bowl appearances: 5—1986-87 (XXI), 1990-91 (XXV), 2000-01 (XXXV), 2007-08 (XLII), 2011-12 (XLVI)
  • All-time Super Bowl record: 3-1 (pending the result of XLVI)
  • NFL Championships before the Super Bowl era: 4—1927, 1934, 1938, 1956
