Doritos Super Bowl 46 Commercial – ‘Excessive Celebration’ Video (Contest Winner)

Doritos has a contest every year to determine what commercials they will run during the Super Bowl, and this year’s winner is called “Excessive Celebration.”

Here is the video, my review is below.

Doritos must be really good.  Not just because they made this guy ignore his hot girlfriend, but because they also made him ignore the game he was watching to follow their cheesy, crunchy deliciousness.

One minor complaint that I have to voice is the horrible play-by-play guy you hear in the commercial.  I’m not really sure what type of accent he’s going for, but it isn’t good.  Also, I can’t help but wonder why these two are watching what is conceivably the Super Bowl by themselves.  Shouldn’t seemingly affluent, attractive (at least in the girl’s case) people who have enough Doritos to cover an entire bed have some friends that want to hang out with them?

Normally I appreciate things being a little risque for national television, but I felt like this one was just a little too forced.  Doritos has a history of running sexy ads (remember Ali Landry?), so it’s no surprise they went this route.  I like seeing scantily clad women, and I love snacks that are really bad for me, but I think this one could have been better.

  1. Glad you did use this one. loved the one with the dog!!!!!!!!!!

  2. This commercial didn't win and nor was it even selected for the top 5. A simple check on the website would show that.

  3. I read this piece of writing completely concerning the comparison of hottest and preceding technologies, it’s
    remarkable article.
