Does Kobe Bryant Team Up with Dwight Howard in Orlando?

As he enters his 15th season, one of the longest tenured pro athletes with one team, Kobe Bryant, finds himself without his best buddy and without his girl.

His team is getting a divorce and so is his wife. The mighty Los Angeles Lakers are in transition and so is Kobe Bryant’s personal life. A change of scenery and sidekick could be just what he needs.

The Lakers could be supplanted by the Los Angeles Clippers this season for best team in Hollywood. Out of every possible insult for the Lakers, this one would hurt the most.

The Lakers’ owner is in failing health and it looks like his sons and daughter are most interested in balancing the family’s books. So, what’s the solution for the rebuilding Lakers?

Give Kobe his out, then play out the season and plan for next year.

The Lakers admitted they can’t make a profit this season when they tried to trade away Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom and then ended up giving away Odom to the Mavs for draft picks.

It’s a sin to give away a player as good as Odom.

He was Robin to Kobe’s Batman. He did everything, from Sixth Man of the Year to enforcer and clutch shooter to beautiful left-handed moves and drives to the bucket.

Odom was always the Lakers’ insurance. Every time Andrew Bynum went down with an injury, it was always Odom that was there to make things right.

Bynum will be hurt again and the Lakers are getting old.

This year, in more than it’s been in a long while, the West in the NBA is wide open. The winner of the Western Conference will more than likely be a new version NBA Finalist, a team on the rise with both youth and experience, like Oklahoma City.

Kobe’s legendary status as a player has limited years left, maybe 2 to 3 more seasons, tops. He’s not able to turn the switch on and off like he used to. He can still win titles, but he needs more help than he ever needed before.

kobe-dwightWho does Kobe need most to win another championship? Easy answer, the same answer any other player would say: Superman.

Kobe won before with Superman, starring Shaquille O’Neal. Once again, Kobe can win with Superman, but this time, Superman is Dwight Howard.

Doesn’t matter if this tandem hooks up in L.A. or Orlando, but the league needs it to happen. These two were meant for each other at these stages of their careers.

Kobe and Dwight together easily trumps LeBron-DWade and Bosh.

If it can’t happen in Los Angeles, than make it happen in Orlando. Maybe this is meant to be a one-time, one-year run for them. Maybe Orlando goes for it this year to win a championship and lets Howard go to free-agency for next year.

If the vision was to have Chris Paul, Kobe, and Dwight together and the money wasn’t going to be right, then surely Jameer Nelson can do his best Paul impersonation and make it work.

Kobe could be traded the following year, too. Heck, in the wheeling-dealing NBA, anything can get done, if the players put up enough of a stink. Nobody wants whiny players.

If Kobe’s gonna whine, let him go. If Dwight wants Kobe, let him have him…at least for one year.

Can anyone say Kobe for Jason Richardson and Hedo Turkoglu?

  1. This would be a great deal, especially because Kobe obviously wants out. He said he doesnt know where the teams direction is headed. Obviously we could throw in a couple of draft picks and maybe some cash considerations. L.A you’ve had your time with Kobe and even he knows the team has to be in rebuilding mode soon. Bynum is young but very unstable a 24yr old center with knee problems(multiple surgeries). If the magic can get Kobe, Dwight would definitely sign an extension. The magic would be the favorite to win it all. If you think this article is a joke well you’re sadly in denial. Magic trade Hedo Turkoglu, Jason Richardson, one first round draft pick and cash for Kobe Bryant. The magic sign Andrei Kirelenko to fill the sf slot. Tremendous scenario that probably should happen but won’t.

    • what superman said!! says:

      what superman said!!

    • Pretty sure the people laughing at the pretense of this article aren't the ones in denial. Kobe Bryant has spent 15 seasons with the Lakers, winning MVPs, scoring titles and 5 championships. The man is literally the face of the Laker franchise. A transcendent player like that doesn't suddenly get traded in a rebuilding phase. Even a superstar who is past his physical prime like Bryant is worth far more than the spare parts that you are suggesting Orlando would offer. You couldn't even trick the CPU into accepting that offer in a video game.

Dwight isn't doing the Orlando organization/fan base any favors by flip flopping on his trade request. He's already said that him staying with the Magic is contingent on their acquiring star talent to return the team to championship contention. The problem with that demand is that Orlando lacks the necessary assets to realistically trade for an all-star level player. I know he's a nice guy and doesn't want to make people unhappy, but the dude needs to just rip the band aid off and get it over with. I don't know where he will be by this time next season, but I am 100 percent sure it won't be Orlando.

  2. You stupid?

  3. Im sorry is this article joke??? Its in the wrong section. should be in the funnies.

  4. This guy must be drunk when writing this article.

  5. Only someone from the Midwest can be this dumb.

  6. lmao righttt…..

  7. I would trade Kobe for Disney World so LA would have both Disney Land and Disney World.

  8. FLFan7710, you must have had too much FALAFA MOJO. I suggest that you stop going to Disney World too much because your imagination is influencing your daily thinking.

  9. In a way this article makes some sense….. but in a way it does not because Kobe has said he wants to spend the rest of his career with Lakers. The only way he'll be traded is if Lakers look awful during the season and they look as if they have no chance of making it out of the west. If that's the case then Lakers will try to trade for Dwight before trading Kobe to Magic,

But Richardson, Turkoglu and draft picks is a good deal for Kobe.

But how I wish Brandon Bass was still with Orlando becuz Big Baby is fat trash.

  10. It would be really nice to see Kobe and Howard in one team but that probably won't happen this season.

    I agree

Haha I can’t believe how stupid this person is. I’m surprised this guy even has enough brain power to write an article in the first place

  13. I can’t believe I missed this article back in December.
Are you actually being paid to write things like this? Your level of ignorance is baffling. Could you be anymore of a KB24/Laker hater?
At least get your facts straight idiot!
