With the NBA not in season, many of us are finding some free time where professional basketball viewing used to be.

While college basketball, college football, and of course the NFL are still here to satiate our sports’ appetites, anyone who appreciates a) intense rivalries and b) watching some of the greatest athletes in the world compete will want to carve out some time this weekend to watch an epic tilt from one of the world’s most competitive soccer leagues.

And our friends at FOX will have you covered: [Read more...]

Can Packers Stay Perfect? They May Have To…

I’m one of those old schoolers who does not like to jinx.

Kind of like a Cubs game where Ryan Dempster makes it to the sixth inning only allowing a pair of walks. On WGN, Pat Hughes goes to painstaking measures to explain what is happening to his audience, ‘The Cubs have six hits, that’s six more hits than the Pirates…’

Meanwhile I scream into my car radio, ‘RYAN DEMPSTER IS PITCHING A NO-HITTER!!!!

This leads me to the Green Bay Packers and their possible historic path.

The MLB is currently in the process of signing a new labor agreement, and they are not going to need a lockout to get it done. It seems crazy, but professional sports leagues are capable of getting things done in a normal manner.

There are two main changes to the baseball landscape that will take place over the next few years.

I guess it’s human nature, but it seems that the grass is always greener somewhere else.

Why does the guy with the super hot girlfriend always end up cheating?

Why does the rich business man get busted for fraud when he already had more money than he could ever spend?

Why is it so easy to ignore all of the good things in your life and instead focus on few flaws?

It’s about time to stop looking at what Tim Tebow can’t do, and appreciate what he can do.

Dear NBA Fans: May I Introduce You To The NHL?

NHL_Background_Spotlight_Logos

Many NBA fans who were hopeful that the 2011-12 season would happen must have been disappointed to hear the news that the season will now likely not happen (or be severely truncated if it does).

While I was never a big fan of the NBA, I feel for the fans who may now go through a single year without their favorite team and players play. I also assume that many of those fans are looking for some kind of alternative.

Matt Leinart Can Redefine His Career In Houston

The Houston Texans (7-3) are poised to make the playoffs this season, especially considering the Colts (0-10) are not in the AFC South race. They have been missing key players all season, including Mario Williams, Andre Johnson, and even Arian Foster for a few games, but injury news came out following Sunday’s win over the Bucs that will have the greatest impact on the team yet.

Matt Schaub is out, possibly for the entire season, after injuring the Lisfranc joint in his right foot. If it requires surgery, he will definitely miss the rest of the season.

His backup, Matt Leinart, is now taking over the reigns of a team who is among the best in the AFC. They have the most complete team in their franchise’s history, and cannot afford to waste their great start.

LaMichael-James

It is hard to believe that most teams only have two games left in the season and a lot of teams now are playing to get invited or improve on their bowl game status.

Unlike the past two weeks, this slate of games does not have two top 10 teams squaring off against each other but still has some very big conference matchups.  Despite the lack of marquee games this week, there still are some very interesting betting lines.

Tyler already ran down the entire college football TV schedule and point spreads for Week 12. Here are the point spreads and picks, as well as other relevant information for this weekend’s top games. [Read more...]
