Tyler Juranovich, our resident Bears fan here at MSF, is currently writing a post entitled Jay Cutler’s Injury is the Worse Thing to Happen to Chicago Since the White Sox Won the World Series.
Since I’m the editor, I can see this, be insulted by it, and then give in to my immature side and quickly churn out a post to make what is a bad morning for he and Bears fans even worse.
So, here is the important question in the wake of Jay Cutler’s thumb injury: Brett Favre, anyone?

The New England Patriots received their Christmas gift from Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos a little bit early.
The Broncos defeated the New York Jets Thursday night behind a stunning 95-yard drive, culminating in a 20-yard, game-winning touchdown run for Tebow. A Patriots victory against a short-handed Chiefs team Monday night could give New England a 2-game division lead over the Jets.

Can you believe we’re only 3 days from Thanksgiving?
Maybe it’s the unseasonably warm weather here in Ohio, or the absence of NBA games that were supposed to have already started, or that I haven’t heard a whole lot about this year’s Black Friday mega-deals, but it sure seems like Turkey Day snuck up on me this year.

Well this stinks.
I’ve never been the biggest Jay Cutler fan, but I have to say that I’ve gained a newfound respect for him this season as he’s persevered through O-Line problems and receiver issues to lead the Bears, along with Matt Forte, to a 7-3 record.
Unfortunately, Cutler’s season may well be over now that he will have to have surgery to repair a broken thumb.

I was explaining the concept of excessive celebration penalties to my wife today while watching football. She doesn’t understand how it is okay for the players to dance around individually, but they are not allowed to do any multi-player/team celebrations.
Come to think of it, neither do I.

Love him or hate him, you have to have an opinion about Tim Tebow.
I love him. I know, I know…I can hear you groan out loud.
I don’t want to hear about how he can never be a quarterback in this league or how he throws balls in the dirt to wide open receivers in the flats.
I don’t know If Tebow can make it as a quarterback in the NFL, but I cannot and will not give up on him.

There are many things that make Jay Cutler dominate.
The many times he throws the football into the a defender’s hands with such ease and grace…the way he shows Aaron Rodgers how a real quarterback plays football…and don’t forget the way he makes getting sacked look a lot cooler than David Carr did.
Those are all examples of how Cutler emulates other pros in his field, but there is one thing Cutler has a complete monopoly over: on-field expressions and body language. No one has a better arsenal of expressions than my man Jay!
This post is a tribute to all those expressions and positive body language that only Jay could display so nicely, clearly, and inspirationally.

Dear Little Crying Vikings Girl,
I know how you feel.
Every Vikings loss, especially to the Packers, makes me want to cry and wonder what went wrong in my life that I cheer for that team.
I wish I could tell you that it gets better as a Vikings fan, but it really doesn’t.
Don’t worry Little Crying Vikings Girl, we have all had our own “crying girl” moment, except most of us were fortunate enough to not have one of our parents film it and put it on the internet. But you’ll have plenty of time in your life to get your mom back. You’re a girl. You’ll think of something.
My own “crying girl” moment came back in 1998, but not for the reason most people think.
I didn’t actually cry after the Vikings lost in the NFC Championship to the Falcons. That afternoon I just sat in my chair staring at the screen, not moving or saying anything, while my dad and his friend laughed at me and told me to get used to it.
No, my “crying girl” moment was when the Vikings lost to the Buccaneers and ended their run at a perfect season.
1998 was my first year as a diehard Vikings fan and I watched every game and expected them to win them all. They actually did win all the games I watched that year, but I wasn’t able to watch the end of the Buccaneers game because my mom wouldn’t leave me home alone and made me come to town with her so my sister could go to her skating lesson. We listened to the game on the radio in the car, but it wasn’t the same.
I cried. The whole time.
The Vikings had lost, and it was my mom’s fault because she wouldn’t let me watch the end of the game. I could have done something! They wouldn’t have lost!
Little Crying Vikings Girl I leave you with this:
The Vikings are going to break your heart more times than any boy (or girl, or dog, or cat, or fish) ever will. It is an incomparable number. But don’t give up on them. No one like fans of teams that win all the time. Patriots and Packers and Cowboys fans are the worst. So whatever you do, definitely don’t be one of them.
No, keep cheering for the Vikings, and don’t give up. For all we know, you are our saving grace.
That’s right. You can’t give up on the Vikings, Little Crying Vikings Girl. You may be our only hope.
