State College has been the focus of the sports world, but not for reasons they or anyone else wanted.
The scandal involving former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky is still unfolding, detail after disgusting detail. The case has been well documented, so I won’t go into the details here outside of their relevance to Saturday’s game.

I follow and am intrigued by a wide variety of sports and sports stories. I especially love playing and analyzing fantasy sports. And I have several strong rooting interests, such as the Chicago White Sox, that I follow very closely.
But if you added it all up and weighed the sum of that sports interest, intrigue, and passion, it would not come close to equaling my love for Indiana Hoosiers basketball.
This is what happens when you grow up in Bloomington, Indiana attending home games with your father. Hoosier hoops are in my blood and always will be, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. So needless to say, watching games is a pretty intense experience for me.

Was David Beckham leading us on over the last 4+ seasons? Did he plan things this way?
He, Donovan, Keane and the others win at home for his last match of his old contract to win MLS Cup for his first time. It all seems to be perfect timing. But, then again, it would have been perfect timing in any one of the previous four seasons.

Thursday games are here! College basketball is here! WSOP wrapped up, but the replays are going on.
Between all of this excitement (and this vile madness), it may be tough to do the research on your players; I know it was for me. But with the fantasy playoffs in sight, and another freeroll tournament you really should participate in, these last few weeks are pivotal in assuring you make it to the playoffs.

The NFL season is half over, and many stories that seemed oh-so important back in August now have little bearing on the season.
We fans fretted and conversed about the lockout and missed training camps, the kickoff rule change, a certain “Dream Team” in Philadelphia, and a #1 overall draft pick who just wasn’t going to cut it as an NFL quarterback; but few predicted the Bengals, Giants and 49ers would lead their divisions at this point.

After contributing what I think is an important question to the national dialogue about the Penn State scandal, and then relaying what I think is essential perspective from a close friend, I was all ready to go to bed.
Then I saw the front page of ESPN.com, and the spectacular juxtaposition of images jarred me to the point of one more post.

I’ve been writing my column “Jay Cutler Dominates” for some time now, and it’s been one of the most fun things to write because it lets me poke some fun at my favorite team’s quarterback in, admittedly, completely absurd ways; and I try to counter any anger you might get from reading the article by making it funny and pretty obviously sarcastic.

Week 11 of college football is upon us. Last week we saw Michigan lose again, Cincinnati escape an upset from Pittsburgh, Arkansas roll over South Carolina, and LSU pull a 9-6 win over Alabama.
